http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/24629066/ http://www.goveg.com/feat/foie/ I have to admit complete ignorance to foie gras prior to this recent removal of the ban. I think this is an easy case of animal cruelty for no good reason if I ever heard of one. If these stories are accurate, dog fighting is better than this, IMO.

Guy 1: Hey man, there's a civilization in the NGC 4151 galaxy. Guy 2: Maybe there is. Guy 1: No, I mean there is a civilization very much like the Romans, dude. Guy 2: I doubt that. How do you know this? Guy 1: This book by L. R. Hubbard says so. Guy 2: <thinking> "What a Dumbass" <responds> "Well ain't that special. I guess I can't disprove that, so I better sit on the fence." Give me a break people.

So if you adopt a child, you have no rights to the child?

One thing I see happen in discussions or debates about god is the ebb and flow between a specific and abstract god. To me, a universe set in motion(not designed down to the last grain of sand) by a god is just as likely as a multi-verse. Neither are 50:50 propositions, just one of many ideas. I can respect these abstract beliefs, since there is no specific claim that would override any evidence one way or the other. If someone then starts claiming the bermuda triangle is a junction to a multi-verse and our health can be improved by linking to our multi-selves and that we must meditate to this concept or face eternal torture, then I don't respect the belief. I can still respect the person, it would just be another quirk about them. If they then want to make decisions about my society based on those beliefs, then I am ready to fight those decisions.

?? Are you referring to making fictional claims on a fictional character or fictional claims on a real character? If I claim that I saw a unicorn in my backyard I would expect people to laugh. Forget the details. A better analogy would be lightning or a dog fart creating a table from a tree. There is evidence of lightning destroying trees, so that is much more probable than a dog fart doing it.

In this case, I disagree. http://en.allexperts.com/q/Horse-Racing-2248/2008/5/Race-Horse-Broken-Legs.htm

http://blogs.usatoday.com/ondeadline/2008/05/saddam-hussein.html From Saddam's diary: "The spread of the Persians... is more dangerous for Iraq than the Zionist entity, now and in the future," he wrote. "The Persians are similarly dangerous to the Arab nation, especially the Arab countries of the Gulf." The more friendly Iraq is with Iran, the better the Middle East situation will be. This won't happen with US presence in Iraq. Better to leave soon and let them have diplomacy. If Iran invades, it will be much easier to take them out than to sit in Iraq currently. Evidence the Iraq wars - the military is much more adept at killing and destroying than maintaining peace between peoples who hate each other and you.

It looks like she has strong ankles though.

I'm in the process of reading it finally. I am in the choir of course, so I am enjoying, but I have heard most of it already through speeches, arguments, etc.

I don't think the picture looks that good. She looks like a girl that tried on her mommies makeup. Nothing sexual at all in that picture to me. But, she has a job and has to answer to her employers....

If I had to do it all over again, I would have tried to find more study buddies in my major.

I agree with MedGen, but would also add - why not now? why not anytime?

If a superdelegate was elected, then those people's vote. If not elected, they are free to do as they please, IMO.

CEO's and stockholders are usually looking in the near term. They could take benefits away from retirees in the future anyway. Also, time lost from work and being less productive would be considerations also. It's also politically correct to bash smoking in many places - good marketing and employee incentive(for non-smokers). I have seen several places - especially universities, ban smoking on site and within 500 feet? of campus. This really tells smokers not to apply IMO.

Of course Hillary is full of it in regards to Michigan and Florida. She probably would have won those states, but the margins would have been closer. Closer to the truth is if they ran the primaries like a general election, she may have won - but that wasn't the rules. I think a superdelegate should only go against their voters if Obama had a serious problem - he breaks the law, etc. Listening to Clinton with her crystal ball is not one of them.

Yep, I should have read your link, clears that up.

From a common sense standpoint, it would seem to me that caloric intake deciding sex of the baby would have had devastating results already. I would expect many more females in some parts of Africa and more males in America, but that doesn't seem to be the case. I wonder if women who are carrying boys have hormonal changes that increase their appetite - if only for a certain mineral or something. In my family, across three generations, the men tend to have either girls or boys but not both. It appears the men are determining the sex of the kids, but that is a small sample and special case.

Think about it from an investor standpoint. Stock A - company that is having steady growth and will probably continue Stock B - company that is aggressively pursuing immediate growth. Stock C - company that is pursuing research for a possible return 15 years from now. Stock A has little risk with moderate reward. Stock B has high risk for high immediate reward. Stock C has high risk for high reward - later. People are usually not going to pick Stock C, which dries up capital. This also favors larger companies(more capital), who are usually the ones benefiting most from the status quo. To get a Google for energy, it would help if they could have some longer term capital.

It will tend to keep ignorant people ignorant(on this subject). No, I have not seen it, but will watch it - only for free. Spending money on it will only encourage more of the same.

My favorite is the Gala. They are sweet, crunchy and are about the right size for a snack. They are available at a decent price and are consistently good. Red delicious is like playing roulette, sometimes great, sometimes bad.
