I think the sample characteristics may come into play here. There are so many variables, race, location, age, etc. Maybe Bush voters were more likely to stand in line longer to vote, etc. In any case, it does appear something unexpected happened statistically. I think it is probably more to do with the sampling process itself, but it is a valid problem. I agree with bascule that it is a done deal, but if some tampering were done, we should try and determine how it was done so it cannot be repeated.

I think that is it in my opinion. What we did in Afghanistan did the trick. But, they got their war with Islam when we invaded Iraq and Iran in the future(unless we get a Pres that can actually talk to someone).

Not a bad idea, if you want to do anything web related, especially non-windows OS.

Wouldn't it be ironic if China invades America to protect their interests in Canadian oil someday? We already have plenty of WMD, it is possible that our government could decline and become more ambivalent to the "winners" of the global economy. If I had any english skills, I would write a novel.

Thought I would add a phalic symbol as my avatar. Now, If I can just get under Sayo...

Another Viewpoint I could make the argument that carrying the momentum that America had with Afghanistan would have made a more peaceful situation in the Middle East today.

Evidence of Evolution
john5746 replied to -Demosthenes-'s topic in Evolution, Morphology and Exobiology
Probably not very well, I would think it wouldn't be attractive to mates and probably seen as hostile or it could have some advantage that favors the survival of its ancestors over the others. -
Great. Too bad Reagan didn't invade and spend billions there to set up a democracy many years ago.

Citizens security and the rights of same are two sides of the same coin. I can see where flipping the coin to tails after an attack like this would be appropriate. To suggest that every situation can be outlined and maintained within the letter of the law is naive, IMO. As with any program, the problem is keeping it from getting out of control and when to lean the coin back to heads.

So the President and Vice President can NEVER be in the same area? If they are both killed we are just so screwed? Sounds like we need communication more than any single person. Not a Dem, but biased Anti-Bush I admit We have limited resources, so handling emergencies of any kind would compete for those resources. I think that is why the movement of FEMA under homeland security was considered a mistake by many. It had to compete for resources and lost.

Yes, and you also have to think about the likelyhood of the crisis compared to others and possible cheaper alternatives. It just seems to me that the DOD is getting their way with the budgets and going over the top with stuff like this. Since budgets are so large, waste gets lost in the pile. Maybe we will have a President that doesn't stay on vacation during a predicted catastrophe and seem inept in dealing with emergencies riding in those helicopters. Then, they might be worth 1 billion.

How much money is it worth to you to keep babies from starving to death? These types of questions aren't very practical in discussing budgets.

Gravitons... Are there anti-gravitons?

Doh!! -
Playing devil's advocate, one could say that they have a similar claim that Native Americans do. We did run their ancestors out of what is now the southwest. I am in favor of doing whatever it takes to secure the borders. If we can do that effectively, we can just make the ones here that want to stay citizens. Then we can think about having a guest worker program.

john5746 replied to RyanJ's topic in Modern and Theoretical Physics
Wouldn't anti-matter produce anti-gravity? Matter produces gravity, so the opposite would be anti-gravity? Just an idea from left-field. -
I got an Import from Brazil. She has a career AND still has the other functions mentioned, while being good with money. In all seriousness, I have added those functions and help out also.

What must happen if Iran continue its Nuclear Programm?
john5746 replied to Desert_Fox's topic in Politics
Why so pessimistic? Do we have to goto War so quickly? Actually, I may agree with you more than you think, however, I responded because you seemed to oversimplify the situation IMO. I could say 'Love your enemies', etc. which sounds good, if you are bent on going to heaven, not if you are trying to survive in a hostile world. I think this is a bigger issue for the countries around Iran and that Russia and China would be better at working with them, but they are not ready for Prime Time just yet. I agree and hope that they are assessing the situation from many angles. I personally think Iran is trying to acquire Nukes to avoid ending up like Iraq, but that doesn't mean they won't end up using them in a missle, or as a dirty bomb. True, which is why I would avoid invading, but destroying facilities would be better for Iran than prolonged isolation or destruction(if they use nukes). Yes, I think he was always worried about Iran, his real enemy. Yes, Palestinians need to give up violence and get on with their lives. -

How would you like it if Germany said that Britain should be wiped off the face of the earth' date=' and were showing a renewed interest in building nuclear weapons, for defense of course. I think someone preached that a long time ago..., what ever happened to him? -
Within the boundaries you mentioned, it may not make a difference, but if people favor more fuel efficient cars over big SUV's, then I think it can make an impact, assuming the fuel efficient cars are less polluting, which may not be the case. Of course, if the US was THE major producer of oil, then we might be fighting to keep prices higher, to make money on exports.

How many Darwinists does it take to screw-in a light bulb?
john5746 replied to nahomadis's topic in The Lounge
None. God will screw it in, if we are worthy.
