Google Scholar had only 1150 hits for "media bias", 3,550,000 hits for media and 1,730,000 hits for bias.

As Jim said, he isn't in the position to offer terms, but from what was reported, he wants the US to pull out of Afghanistan and Iraq. Well, we were in neither of these countries on 9/11.

OOPs! my bad. You were correct. whatever that means.

As was the case with America in WWII, but we wanted to make sure we were first. They are surrounded by enemies, and so felt they needed to have them. I think it was a mistake, but I understand why they did it. I also understand why Iran is doing it. I don't think they will run out and shoot the thing, I think they want the political capital that comes with it. But, their support of terrorism and their leader worries many, understandably.

Define our and us. Is this just your silly "tribal" belief?

That probably is a good thing. Stalemate works if both sides get mutal destruction. If one side can destroy the nuclear capability of the other while attacking, that would make the attack more likely. Right?

Yep, sniper did what snipers do. Now, what if the buddy of the sniper victim ties some TNT to himself and runs into the sniper and 10 of his buddies? Good kill?

Yes, he is an excellent salesman, good people skills...maybe too good

This is the same as any prescription as mentioned in the previous post. Medicine is tested on averages, not on you as an individual. I take medicine for hypertension and am fully aware of the side effects. I have the doctor change, or eliminate drugs based on results, how I am doing, goals, etc. For insominia, you may want to try melatonin. This seems to help me when I have occasional bouts of insominia. Also, limit TV and computer usage, especially prior to bedtime.

It doesn't seem like all these negotiations and cat-and-mouse games work. I think the US, Russia and China need to come up with some rule to the effect that if a country develops atomic weapons, they are responsible if those weapons are used. An immediate, terrible response, including the use of nuclear weapons will be used against their country.

How about making a C or D in a class? Shouldn't schools give students at least an A or B for their time? I think some sore of minimum wage is OK, since low-wage earners really don't have the mobility and ability to get work anywhere. In some areas, a few companies can dominate and take advantage. Expecting workers everywhere to strike, move around and find work would probably be more costly than having some minimum wage. To raise it like that would increase prices and unemployment no doubt. It would also increase illegal employment. It would also have a ripple effect, moving moderate wages upward. A factory worker wants to get paid more than someone working at McDonald's. Especially when they eat there and the price just shot up.

OK, so they should teach their children to live for killing Palestinians, strap bombs on them and cheer when they kill a bunch? Would that make you happier? You are being dishonest. Police kill more criminals than vice-versa. Does that make them wrong? Sometimes, but usually not. The suicide bombings occur too randomly to be always tied to an Israli response. They need to learn to complain non-violently. Demonstrate, go on hunger strikes, whatever. They will then see the world, including the US come to their defense more often. They need a Ghandi or an MLK figure.

I agree, especially in light of the tax cuts that benefit the wealthy that the repubs keep pushing. One issue I have is that taking responsibility away from people tends to drive up costs. If maintenance for your car was provided by the government, you can imagine that shops would be overrun with cars and people would do less on their own to keep their cars in shape. They wouldn't shop around to get the best price, so who cares if an oil change costs $200? It would be nice if only catastrophic insurance were provided, but then people probably wouldn't do the preventative visits, etc. Also, if someone doesn't quit smoking, drinking etc. why do I have to bail them out? Can they at least share more of the burden for such bad habits?

Assuming this is true, what about all those people with similar conditions that die? Is it their fault? Anyone's fault? Things happen that no one can explain. I guess they could be called miracles, but that doesn't mean they are caused by a supernatural, intelligent force. If you win the lottery after dreaming about it, it seems like a miracle, but someone had to win. After winning, you would all of a sudden remember seeing the ticket and possibly the place you bought it in your 'dream'. The odds are that someone will somehow defeat a terminal disease. All the details are after the fact, memories made to fit the explanation.

This brings up a good point. Who should set the standards for Public Education? We agree that judges, politicians, and average Joe's are not the best to do it. Maybe a panel of experts in a given field provide national guidelines? I would argue that the judge is really saying that ID is religion based, not that it is an invalid scientific theory. I would think he would be as qualified as anyone to judge that aspect.

Yep, Bush's problem is that everyone who disagrees with him is stupid. OK. We do need to "get over" the WMD's, etc. The way I see it, the whole country was caught up in 9/11. I remember when Bush was pounding away at Saddam, how dangerous, etc. I didn't really believe he was a threat that needed immediate attention. I thought he probably had something to do with the 9/11 plot. I didn't really question it, as most people didn't. We need to learn from history, to not be complacent(as was Clinton), but also not rush in(as did Bush). I doubt most of the intelligence that I hear now. Did Saddam really try to have Bush Sr killed? Maybe, Maybe not. He was a bad guy, not doubt. The world would be better without Castro, Kim, and others but that doesn't mean we need to go in there and rebuild their nation for them.
