What if there really is a genetic component to it? One problem I see is that we constantly do demographic studies and then produce solutions to combat the differences in achievment by race. In some situations, we may have to consider genetic differences and say it isn't caused by any social element. We should try to an extent, but don't waste resources on trying to equalize something that may not be equitable.

They are trying to show that global warming is real and destroying the environment. Just as many companies try to show that global warming is non-existent. I don't agree with some of the things they do, but this seems pretty tame. One problem we face is if man tries to proactively save the environment, not just keep from damaging it, he is taking unnatural actions that may further damage the environment!

http://www.nps.gov/pete/mahan/eduhistafam.html They did have some free blacks work for the confederacy. I wouldn't be too quick to label them stupid. War is more complicated than it appears on paper.

Sorry, its bad enough to watch a real debate!

You gotta love the irony, but we do need to evaluate the environment to see what effect we are having on it. This may cause damage sometimes, but it is better than just ignoring it.

Intelligent Design, a threat to science

Are you from Iran? gotta love the irony! Don't worry, if the creationist and thier Ilk win, this country will go down the waste bin faster than it is currently. Then the rest of the world just needs to disarm our WMD's and go about their business. -
If Iran goes in, takes out the top guy, kills some people, then stays there to help rebuild the place, costing billions - then I would agree with the similarities. Right now, the Iranian dufus is looking like Mussolini

I could see how white athletes would be offended, especially his team. People do a lot of reading between the lines with statements like this. They automatically assume he is talking genetics and that they can't get black athletes because there aren't enough smart ones to go to his school or some other tangent like that. People seek to be offended these days. I think he owes his team an apology, just as any coach who puts all the blame on his team. But that's about it.

Not sure about that, the best deterrent is mutual destruction. You shoot one at us and you WILL be wiped off the face of the earth. Much like the Soviets and US. The Arabs haven't been the best friends to the palestinians either. Bettina, cooler minds prevail. Please remember, we have had Presidents that have called countries "evil". I am sure they didn't appreciate that very much. Israel does have a difficult plight. I wish we could donate some land in the US for a "New Israel", but I know they wouldn't take it, even if the US would do it.

Intelligence has nothing to do with it. Just Kidding! There are better calculations. Need to take body measurements. Be careful with dense though. If your belly feels like you swallowed a watermelon - very tight, then you may have intraabdominal fat, which is more dangerous than the flabby fat under your skin. I also drank much more early than now, if you survive any accidents, you should be fine, especially if you drink wine, moderately. I got 82, I am too heavy and have heart problems in my family. I am working on it, though. I am on the South Beach Diet and lifting weights - working great so far. 82 is enough for me, provided I stay healthy, until I reach that age I guess!

http://www.mercurynews.com/mld/mercurynews/sports/13006182.htm Yes, I know - not very smart comments from the coach. Not politically correct, but I bet 95% of coaches agree with him. Do we deny that the average black athelete will be quicker and more coordinated? The average asian student will have a higher SAT than others? There are exceptions and the reasons may not always be genetic and we have the whole, what is a race thing, but can we not make any generalizations, even if there is some truth in them? As they find genome differences, will they be able to publish them without a bunch of flack? If you know that African Americans have a tendancy toward sickle-cell or hypertension, do you treat them differently, or just ignore it? Edit: Maybe this link will work http://inhome.rediff.com/sports/2005/oct/27coach.htm

I thought SG-9 went down a notch or two without O'neill, but maybe will get better. Battlestar Galactica - I got hooked, great show, but hard to watch unless you watch most episodes.

http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationworld/chi-051027miers,0,5967292.story?coll=chi-newsbreaking-hed Miers withdraws. Never thought I would see Bush lose to his base. He may have to go with a man next time, some type of minority probably.

Oh, I completely agree, as I stated similar sentiments in a previous post. Still, I would find it hard to exact the same punishment in this situation than if the victim was completely innocent. I like Mokele's seperation of Blame

I agree on the minimum wage issue. We have too many freedoms to require govt to step in to increase someone's pay. I want more pay, but I don't expect anyone to make it happen for me, and if they did I wouldn't be as effective as an employee in the end.
