I was just wondering, should he be deported? I mean if an Islamic cleric in America said Blair should be taken out, people would be screaming to have him removed. Is terrorism acceptable if it is against enemies(real or perceived)?

From a moral standpoint, I see no problem. From a legal standpoint, I think it should be kept to two consenting adults. Having a "divorce" of a marriage between 20 people would be a nightmare.

"If he thinks we're trying to assassinate him, I think that we really ought to go ahead and do it," Mr. Robertson said Monday on his show, "The 700 Club." "It's a whole lot cheaper than starting a war. And I don't think any oil shipments will stop." Quote from Pat Robertson, a President wanna-be, Christian Coalition founder. Another insane remark to add to his long list.

That's a good one! I guess when they have enough weapons to destroy the world twice they will feel like they can "splurge"

Good question. Assuming that the news media leans to the left, conservative talking heads are firmly planted on the right. Now, there are shows with partisan bickering all over the place. So people defend and attack just to score points. You could say that IMM's comment on Bush's African policy is partisan. Since she supports the left, she would defend leftist policy. Someone from the right could argue that flushing more money down the African toilet is idiotic. Maybe it's in the eye of the observer.

I think Bush is a decent person, which we needed post Clinton (Gore is a decent person also). I trust that he means well and really wants to make the world a better place. Seems to be high energy and focused most of the time. He seems to perform better in crisis mode rather than planning/analytical.

Maybe you can give an example where this happened, preferrable a real case, but hypothetical would do.

...or the liberal protesting Iraq has just as much right as the conservative protesting Kosovo. Although, with Kosovo the intentions were on firm ground and didn't change.
-
Yet a discussion has begun. It is obviously partisan - so what. Quotes like that and the attacks on soldiers and veterans who disagree with Bush show who the talking heads really support.

examples I disagree, there are many extremist groups from other religions. One major difference is that America and Europe had a liberal movement that fought against intolerance. The pendelum has swung back some, probably for the good, because you can't tolerate people bent on destroying you. Islamic extremists are bonded by the religion, not nationality, so I think the description is correct in most cases. Doesn't mean they are following the religion correctly.

Good, they both do the same political crap, they just call each other different names.

It makes a hell of a lot more sense than invading a country to overthrow one person! I know, you don't necessarily agree with the invasion, off-topic, etc.... Hey, they can be put in a nice cell with cable TV, etc for the rest of their lives and find God - whatever, just get them away from society. The two prevalent ideas I have heard for these 'monsters' is genetic or abuse as children. I don't see where prosecutors fit in either of those scenarios.

My work sucks, I am underpaid and my dog pissed on my shoe - I think I'll go rape a child. Wrong Answer. Really doesn't matter how they came to be, what matters is that they are prevented from harming others.

How does it breed more of them?

I think that's the point. The right is acting as if the left is the only one that complains against military action.

That's because you don't believe

I know you don't mean to say she is the same as they are, but some may read that between the lines. While having an open mind is nice, it doesn't make you wrong if you don't. Although with conservatives, I think so.

To teach ID in a public school, it needs to be stripped of religion. So, if it is religious in nature, it should not be taught at all. Much like christianity isn't taught. It is mentioned historically here and there, but not taught in a course. The proponents of ID don't want it tied to religion for this reason.

Is he attacking anyone here for not doing something? I could just as easily say that the human rights crowd took a pass on Russian school children or people starving in Korea. So, just because this A-Hole thinks they aren't doing what he thinks they should doesn't mean anything. It is a stupid comment not worthy of a thread.

What about cancer, heart-disease, etc. What about dogs in Korea? People do this all the time. Someone tries to do some good and they just whine and complain. He should shut-up and go help the soldiers in Iraq. The left does the same by saying why didn't we invade/do something about this country or that. Just because you don't fix EVERYTHING, doesn't mean you can't do ANYTHING.
