  1. I am beginning to realize just how un-imaginative I am.
  2. I don't think so.
  3. I agree with you Pangloss. Not sure if you were responding to me or My Memory. In any case, while McCain has the reputation of being a maveric, he IS a politician. Nothing wrong with that.
  4. If there was a God, women would have teeth down there....
  5. I guess I learned a long time ago that he is a politician. When running against Bush in the primaries, South Carolina came into the limelight. The rebel flag displayed at the Capital was a big issue at the time. Some were trying to get it removed. When asked their opinion, both candidates ran away from the issue, they said it was a state issue. Bush visited Bob Jones (we call it Nazi U.) while McCain did not. I wanted him to be president then and still support him, but I understand that he is a politician and has learned to compromise and bend to the issues when needed. But, I think he has principles and will fight against his own party when necessary. These guys have to shake hands and smile with people they detest in order to get things done.
  6. I guess insofar as we are trying to control the environment instead of vise-versa. We are always fighting against equilibrium. Keeping water out of certain areas, bringing water into certain areas, fighting disease and death. Sooner or later, things are brought into equilibrium.
  7. I was born with the urge to have sexual relations with women. I find many women appealing and interesting. Does this mean I can cheat on my wife without fault? No. Can I be blamed? Yes. Would she be compassionate and keep me comfortable if I cheated on her? NO! We are all born with faults, but as far as I can tell we have choices. Some more limited than others, I agree. But, if someone has an urge, they can still either avoid it, or seek help.
  8. I liked Florida's system better than South Carolina's. SC's requires you to select the person before seeing the photo. Florida allows you to scan photos. I think branding thier forehead would be good.
  9. homeless survey This is a decent link. The jist: Substance abuse, mental illness, veterans, battered women and children are major categories.
  10. It is obvious to me that McCain is thinking of running in 08. I don't see how supporting a President in his own party is wrong. He made it apparent that while he liked Kerry, he thought Bush was the best Commander in Chief. It is apparent to everyone that SOMETHING should be done to fix social security, so when the pres says he wants to do something about it, what's wrong with supporting him? I am not a supporter of Bush, but I understand why McCain supports him on some of the issues.
  11. Yes, I agree. The media wants to sell content. They want to promote angst. Basically, going in, the europeans and americans were hoping for a more liberal pope to help with increasing their numbers, so the media is feeding on the dissappointment. Maybe some bias, but I could still see the reverse happening for say the leader of Greenpeace, assuming its followers wanted a more conservative person, but not quite as big a story.
  12. How about having to survive with polluted air, water and no ozone? We are destroying the environment that sustains us. Maybe there will be some who can handle these changes better than others.
  13. Because a socialist regime or any government doesn't 'produce' anything. The people produce things.

    Which ones yours!

  15. Please, the major effort in Iraq has been nation building. The 'war' was won rather easily. The US relies on Japan as well as China. She needs both, but Japan is a strong ally. Invading and conquering China might be difficult, but just keeping them out of Japan and bombing the crap out of them wouldn't be.
  16. The US would jump in and eventually find a use for all its WMD's. China loses.
  17. We have been training Iraq troops though, correct? They should be in much better shape.
