Bush isn't as smart as Clinton. I mean Clinton could carry on foreign affairs while carrying on his own "affair" if you know what I mean. He had some vacation while working! Very efficient! Bush has Cheney - he runs the place remember? Bush doesn't need to be there much.

Drugs in moderation are fine. The problem is when people become addicted or use the drugs heavily. Alcohol in moderation is actually beneficial to health, not to mention relaxing. Mary Jane may actually have benefits also. Other drugs that have no benefit and are highly addictive - keep them illegal.

It is the Air Force's job to pursue new weapons and technology. That doesn't mean the government needs to allocate funds for it though. It bothers me that we seem to think we deserve to have superiority in space over anyone else. I can see how this would really alarm someone not from the U.S. I hope we don't start putting serious weapons in space, these things fall back into earth eventually. I guess some see the need to be able to take out satellites. I think jamming and spying on the transmissions would be better.

Kerry won the debate no doubt about it. Bush just repeated his campaign. He looked like he was wearing sandpaper underwear. He was waiting for the crowd to start chanting 4 more years to save him. If they had a real debate, no doubt he would be in big trouble. Kerry may have lost on the soundbite test, which seems to be the only thing important in today's media. He used the word 'Global' and that is being spun like crazy. He was simply stating that we need to have our act together better before making a preemptive strike. Bush keeps talking about France. Well, turns out they were right. Look at how he acted. If the acting were reversed, you would see the right comparing Kerry to Dean. I can't imagine this guy convincing any world leader unless that person is already lined up with him. One thing Bush does well though, when he talks about individuals, like the soldier who died and his mother. He connects on those, much like Clinton did, but without the slick.

I think Sayo brought up a very good point. We tend to think all these countries do things only thinking about America or Israel, when in fact, they are posturing to avoid conflicts with their brethren and terroists. The mafia would have very formal meetings, etc but then go out and wipe the streets with one another. This is one reason why Saddam might not want people to know he actually didn't have any weapons of consequence. If he doesn't have power, he is dead.

You have to admit that Haliburton with the current VP smacks of conflict of interest. I've heard they are the best, etc, but I would go out of my way to get someone else.

I think most of the prominent members in Al-Queda are from Saudi Arabia and Egypt. Probably some "ties" in those countries. Probably some ties in Iran, they unlike Saddam are not a secular government. The argument is would Saddam sell weapons to terrorists? Probably. Would he sell WMD's? That is a stretch, but possible.

It always was and still is a stupid thing. Just as driving drunk is stupid. Many people so it with no problems, but when something goes wrong, it is very bad. Not being self rightous here, I did stupid stuff as a teen also, just saying it is stupid even if you get away with it.

You and I have very similar viewpoints I believe. We are just "leaning" a little the opposite way. Actually, I think Kerry will lose anyway. He needs a flawless performance in the debates. He will be too wordy and will need to attack Bush. Bush won't have to say much. Who was the greatest political philosopher? Jesus. I remember when Bush answered that question as a candidate. I thought it was over for him - it turned out to be the best thing he ever said. I am almost positive he will say some dumb things like he did in the debates with Al Gore - "Nation building isn't necessary", etc. But people will only pay attention to body language.
