  1. I am just curious,is there even a slight possibility that a YY individual can be produced?Since normal females generally carry two X chromosomes they provide only X gametes and the Y chromosme can only come from a male, so how is it viable then that a YY individual would be even conceived?
  2. Simple algebra as some have described above is very essential for dealing with day to day encounters like managing family expenses, shopping for items, and interpreting numerical data in the news. However, one can live without the knowledge of the full scope and application of calculus.
  3. I would say genetics requires a fair amount of maths as well as certain experiments dealing with calculations, but on general terms biology relies less on mathematics.
  4. From easiest to hardest- Biology, Chemistry,Physics Biology was more about general familiarization and recall, while chemistry and physics required thorough understanding of concepts with an increasing degree of difficulty.
  5. I believe the benefits of genetic engineering generally outweigh the complications that may arise during manipulative procedures in certain settings. The question of ethics has been the focal point for endless debates; however, a persuasive representation of properly tested breakthroughs in controversial fields can help change public opinion over the subject.
  6. Thank you very much for the responses guys, you've certainly cleared up my previous doubts.

I agree with this view, blood would coagulate all across the body and would distinctly solidify in larger blood vessels. Thus, the idea that blood would "get down" to lower regions of the body through some route, seems invalid to me.
  8. Hello, I have a question on ETC.... What types of differences are there between electron transport chains present in photosynthesis reactions and those which take part in aerobic respiration? A detailed response comparing significant distinctions between the two would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance. amaysa
  9. I'm amaysa, just joined today. This forum appears to be a good spot to have lively discussions on scientific issues... I opted to join the community to gain some understanding on certain concepts and also to give my opinions once in a while. Cheers :
