The ethically logical approach, is to do everything you can to make it as unaware and comfortable as possible, before you, the arbiter, decide to kill it.

The reason why Trump wins in the minds of some people is the simplicity of his narrative versus the counter-intuitive complexity of the reason he's wrong, it's infuriating to those that can see through his specious BS; and by the time his posse realise their mistake, it'll be too late to change their mind.
