  1. Indeed, but nor is it likely to happen, in our daily lives; when it does is when we'll find out, what sort of hero we are...

It's like you're complaining about not being the teacher's pet, bc they said the same thing, it's not an argument...

I think you'll find that the 'other's' were explaining why your opinion is inaccurate, you're only being called out bc you continue to ignore, rather than imbibe the information.
  4. Wow, how did it get to this? Is foundational physics stuck? Of course not, that's like asking if potty training is necessary...
  5. Hating ones work is not an effective motivation to go to work, hate is only efficient at destroying one's contentment. It can help if you or your family are being attacked by someone physically in front of you, in order to repel the attack; otherwise it's abstracted and no longer useful and becomes a universal weakness, which is exploited by the very people we should be hating...

    Not everyone...

What could they do? It's like trying explain why Sisyphus is actually in heaven, to a child with a fear of rocks; people (by which I mean our culture) are taught to fear an uncertain future, Sisyphus knows exactly what he'll be doing tomorrow and he, oh so, nearly succeeded today, 'still' he thinks 'there's always tomorrow' and gets his head down for forty winks. 😉

You are wrong, 'we' will be fine; but they are definitely doomed...

There was... It's going to be a difficult time for the satirical, they have fallen on stoney ground...
  10. You're missing the point, contempt IS a hateful way to explain ANY difference in opinion/creed/etc. Contempt is always a weakness, because you assume "that you're better than the next man, fool... The next man may save your life, fool; let that be a lesson, fool"... 😉
  11. Contempt should be restricted to the sports field bc it's useful to imagine one is better than one's opponent in order to win a game!!! In rugby, we then shake hand's and applaud them off the field, win or lose... When it's applied to the real world, it just causes conflict and when at war the concept is super-sized to create hatred... Fundamentally were all the same, adults, contempt is for kids fighting in the playground.

It's funnier than that, America has voted in their king and we'll be forced to pay him fealty; the circle of life lends wieght to the irony... 😉😣
  13. It's missing some context...
  14. Yes, not everyone's vote matter, is not the same as no one's vote matters...
  15. Ok, so my definition is, 'everyone' gets a vote and will be required to submit it, even if they don't want to (unless they can't make a significant mark) regardless of age or ethnicity or any other excuse that limits their humanity. As it goes, I think the electoral college system is an excellent way to limit the potential damage of a free-for-all witch hunt, based on the population density...

All we know is, the news is winning making a profit...
  17. You seem to be conflating "pure democracy" with mob rule. @Night FM What is your definition of a pure democracy?
  18. As has been pointed out this isn't the right forum to discuss this.
  19. When is it ever as simply as a pure definition?
  20. Why? As MalcomeX so eloquently put it "we aint never seen a democracy"...
  21. Are you saying that a constitution couldn't be designed, that would make a pure democracy better?
  22. What about a constitutional democracy prevents a pure democracy? Having said that, I don't think the American constitution could work as a pure democracy bc it could easily devolve into city States... Indeed, but a pure democracy would be a better system...
  23. We're (by which I mean the royal we) lucky Mike Pence had a backbone the last time, Trump will have chosen much more carefully, this time; If he wins, we're looking at democracy in the rear view mirror... As @Peterkin suggested there has never been a true democracy, some are closer than other's but it's always a compromise with the self intrest of the wealthier...

More likely Delaware, bc their beauty queen was a very pretty man...
  25. It's a straightforward question, to which the answer is and? Bc 'we' could never visit, to see for ourselves... Why?
