  1. The bible was never meant as a reference library of facts, it's a teacher's manual of life; the synopsis of which is heard, by some 'big nose', on the mount... 😉 Read it with that in mind and much is reviled revealed; it might be out of date now, but there's no reason to dismiss the wisdom it contains; unless you're looking for an excuse to revile...
  2. Evil depends on which side of the cutlery one is viewing thing's. Would you consider yourself evil for eating a battery farmed chicken? The difficult thing about this as it relates to humans, is to distance yourself from, so called, atrocities and judge the perp as a human, just like you and me. Evil is just an excuse to do evil, therefore from a rational POV it doesn't exist; but politically... 😣
  3. That kinda tampers with the whole idea of 'free will', if you know what the future holds; what's the point of living that future?
  4. You've answered your own question, society has evolved to favour monogamy: but with divorce rates being what they are, I feel the pendulum is now swinging the other way... 😉
  5. That's what I mean, he assumed that knowledge is better than ignorance; I'm not saying willful ignorance has any value BTW. But, god did it is just as viable an answer in science, when exploring the nebulous nature of nature, as it is in the nebulous nature of people. Education is like oxygen, in that it is a dose dependant poison; get too much and you end up thinking about an ever increasing circle of knowledge, until we're thinking about nothing important; get to little and all you think about is, what's important; like that guy with the wax wing's and his hieght fixation.
  6. There is no map to art, no path to follow, no uber to summon and pay for the journey; Maslow may as well be saying "in my spare time, I dabble with finger paints. Some time in the future that will be very valuable too someone, if they've got enough spare..."
  7. Well, maybe neither of us is correct; but you're welcome to your filter bubble, where you can't be wrong... I don't care anymore...
  8. I'm sorry, there was a point to my question's which would have been revealed upon receipt of your answers (for additional context). Along the lines of, there's no independent adjudication of your rules... Last post @Phi for All, I'd say it's been fun, but lately, with all this prejudice of my intent; no thanks...
  9. I'm sorry, did I interupt your replies... 🙄
  10. I have explained throughout our exchanges, uniqueness in art is the antipode of supply and demand, it has to be created from the bootstrap. A teacup from the titanic, has many thousands of copies in many a bric-a-brac sale going for pennies, if I can manufacture a link that people will believe, then that teacup will return 10,000% profit for each one that I introduce to the market, in a believable fashion.
  11. Is there ever going to be a time when you'll pay out your money? Isn't it morally wrong to promise something you have no intention of honoring?
  12. God didn't right the bible, people did... Besides god doesn't need the money, therefore the question is for 'poeple' of all faith's and antifaith's and everyone in between; god would have to make a new Jesus in order to, vicariously, join the conversation. Jesus said love your neighbours, he didn't stipulate an earnings bracket; in fact, I think he felt sorry for the rich, and not because they're evil... 😉 (look it up)
  13. Indeed, the question has nothing to do with god; so why is it still in the wrong forum?
  14. Your OP seems to... 😉
  15. You seem to have missed my mention of the artworld manufacturing the value of art. That's why I admire Banksy's art, he makes it almost impossible to own and everyone can see the picture. Uniqueness, in the mind of a rich/selfish man, is something I can spend a fortune on and it not cost me a penny, and still not even see the picture; it's value is +1 to me... That seems a little harsh, it is my thread... The most valuable thing I've gotten from art, is the most poignant moment of my life; looking out on Juno beach and my mind superimposing the opening credit's of 'Dad's Army' on the scene in front of me. It gave me a real insight into the value of life...
  16. It's just a smile, while I walk to the shop... May be that's a Banksy... 😉
  17. The intrinsic value of art, is that it puts a smile on my face; when I need to walk 1,000 miles to a shop...
  18. You got a meme/gif for that? If memory serves, North Korean fake dollar bill's were of better quality than a US printed one, at some point in history.
  19. The intrinsic value of these objects depend on a promise... 😉 If I was a 1,000 miles from a shop, I'd rather have a knife.
  20. What's your argument about the rest of that sentence/post? I heard the other day of an artist that couldn't tell the difference between his work and that of famous forgery artist, someone has to decide at a forensic level about the 'official' provinance (oops) of a painting that is up for sale; it's not like both paintings can be sold for half the price of the original, the value isn't in the picture itself.
  21. Who sets the rules? For instance, if I was dying of thirst and broke into your home to drink from the tap, in some countries you would be within your rights to shoot me when I turn round, before I have a chance to apologise and offer to pay for the damages.
  22. It's the people that decide what is original, that set the value of a painting; it costs me nothing to own a copy of his work. But in Banksy's case it's a team of people, that verify every peace of graffiti that appears on a wall, in a public place; the disappointment of those that saw a good peace of graffiti in their neighbourhood, only to find out it was only a local toe-rag that was inspired by him... 😣
  23. What metric are you going to use in order to objectify one's freedom, and make it universally true?
  24. There's a band new dance but I don't know it's name
