  1. The question is whether such materials can be found...
  2. AFAIK, it is believed that the main task is to run fusion reactor, and that the other problems will be solved later.
  3. Energy losses? But if you take usual inductance coil without any ferrite core in it, it would cut-off high-frequency too!
  4. Sodium lamps of low-pressure also should be noted, because theirs efficiency is two times larger than that of fluorescent bulbs...
  5. But... Such situation has been described already... But I can't remember the author's name... In his book "new Earth" is combined from different pieces from different places and periods.
  6. But it seems that the color reproduction of luminous tubes is much better than that of "white LEDs". Really? And how can the difference in energy be made smaller? If we assume the quantum yield to be equal to 1 (1 UV photon with energy 4.8 eV produces 1 "visible" photon with energy ~2.4 eV), the energy losses should be about 50%, in any case! (as I know, it's quite difficult to make the quantum yield of luminophor large than 1).
  7. Imagine two point charges, Q1 and Q2, placed at the distance R. If we assume that space between charges Q1 and Q2 is filled with unknown charged particles, the interaction force F can not be equal to F~Q1*Q2/R^2, due to "shielding effect".
  8. I mean to say, to use ohmic heater - it can be powerful enough (~1 kW) to boil large volume of water...
  9. May be, to add some salt? why microwaves? why not to use usual heater?

Few years ago I conducted experiments with 'water rheostat' to determine properties of the high-frequncy powerful transformer, and I saw that with increase of water temperature, water resistance decreases considerably. So, if the resistance decreases, the current between electrodes should rise, and the larger amount of O2 and H2 should be obtained....
