    Junk DNA

    hehe, i was just wondering what caused it.:} .....and i resent that iNow, do really sound like i don't enjoy life? (:
  2. i understand how that works, but it is still all kept in balance by gravity, mass and velocity(I think i'm forgetting one) Its kept in balance by gravity and it still doesn't answer my question, " does everything give off gravity waves?"
  3. exactly, sharks do not like us. we're probably like twinkies to them. disgusting and stuffed with preservatives. :}
  4. how in any sense is gravity weak. it keeps us stuck to the earth, and the atmosphere, and everything in balance with the sun. it can not be weak.

    hey none of that explains why we age, our body's systems are amazing, and with the way they work, they should keep going. so why do we age. also premature aging is not a cause of aging. it is aging.
  6. heres the thing, video games may be violent, but i know way too many people who play regular games and are still amazingly violent and rude. seriously, video games are absolutely different from real life. and the majority of people know this. and if you have ever seen anybody get hurt by other people, you know video games are nothing like it. even movies are different. not only that the only physical thing you are doing is moving your thumb and finger. think about it, there are way too many other factors that cause violence to simply blame video games, people are just looking for a reason for the seemingly pointless violence that occurs.
  7. hooray for not being nutritional to sharks! well not tasty or filling at least, mabe we're what they binge on. :}
  8. unless it simply requires a form of technology we havn't developed yet. gravity has to be pretty powerful, it made the planets, its part of the sun. mabe everything gives off gravity waves mabe it isn't a form of energy.

    oh really, and what is it that causes us to age? i would like to mention that i am also in disbelief of junk dna, i still think it has some purpose.
  10. i've never found it stressful to be killed by pros it only increases my determination to be the best. When i die i only become more powerful then before, MWAHAHAHAHA! :}
  11. but you know, i have always found video games to ground me a little. like with the flood, you know its not real, and its a great way to distract yourself from how annoying other people are. i'm one of the least violent people i know.
  12. i play violent video games all the time, but i've never been particularly violent. in fact i usually play my stuff when i'm bored. though yeah i usually feel better afterwards. i don't think they really effect you. desensitize you, mabe.
  13. yeah a little but, in a way it kinda makes sense. we know that cells are alive, but they are made up chemicals, so really they don't need a living thing working for them to keep them alive, but they still need those chemicals working for them to keep them alive. thus they still need something working for them. :}

    to: phil couldn't it be that those genes that appear to have no use could simply be dormant. used early on in the developmental process, but have no use anymore? my sister beleives that junk dna is what makes us age. you know, like glitches that wear us down. i like her idea, it does make sense.
  15. if it only reacts gravitationally wouldn't it be continually giving off energy in that form?
  16. :confused mabe their are multiple forms of gravity, or whatever makes it up repels itself. perhaps there are two parts to gravity, mabe the first part attracts itself strongly, and the other part, weakly repels itself, keeping a balance. it becomes dense but can't quite get that dense due to the second part. sorry to sound vague. also if it collapsed wouldn't it simply become extremely dense? like a huge solid sphere. and if it did that couldn't it be the beginning of a planet? also feel free to correct me. im a biology geek, not physics.:}
  17. to: darklance thats why i said universe. and yes, TheDarkShade, it would be.
  18. in response to swansont: point taken. to: Riogho good point, i didn't take antimatter into consideration.
  19. we are in agreement then that life has to exist elsewhere in the universe, what we don't know is how developed it is, they might be more developed and have colonized all the possible planets, but they might have colonized planets that are suitable to them. while it is likely that alien life would have devoloped in silmilar conditions to us, it is always possible that they developed in conditions completely different then ours, say a gaseous planet for example, they might be giant fish things, or as we were once, bacterial slime. the universe can't have an end, meaning that these aliens may have colonized the suitable planets in their star system, i think that there will always be planets to be colonized.
  20. i thought that dark matter is only a theory, like the anti-matter, supposedly what blackholes are made of, if there are particles of dark matter floating around that are too small to be black holes,and assuming they are the opposite of matter wouldn't it make sense that they would repel each other. Rather than being sucked down a black hole, the black hole would push it away quickly, doing the opposite of what it does to regular matter, similar to magnetic charges.

    i agree whith Dichotomy, last i heard it was proven wrong, not only that but it is quite possible that those "junk genes" are the basis of our natural instincts. everything about any living thing is genetic, even to how we think, the steps we take, and the associations we make to each individual thought. it seems absolutely impossible to me that we would have any "worthless" genes, even if they are to create a vestigial form.
  22. my mother has been complaining of the same thing for over a year now. she says the itching is enough to make her mad. she has been yousing the anti-allergen laundry soap, scent free lotion and other annoying expensive stuff. for a while the doctors thought she had Scabies( a horrible little parasite that lives under your skin) now they are considering psoriasis. i still don't think so but we have yet to make any conclusions. have you considered parasites? if you find out anything you should message me.
  23. HI, I'm Dianne, my username says it all. i rock at halo,most other video games,writing, i love motorcycles and am saving up for an '07 model of the ninja 250. i like biology and debates.
  24. i feel that to define life, that life has to be able to do something, that the things that make it up, perform a job to keep that thing alive. sorry to be so vague.
  25. generally i have always felt that sharks generally attack people out of either curiosity or stupidity. i suspect that although humans can be eaten, we probably taste very sweet, due to the number of sugars and preservatives we eat. that probably doesn't taste very good combined whith salt water. sharks may be used to the salt,but that doesn't mean sweet and salty tastes good at all. sharks very rarely attack us i beleive, also because we don't look very appealing. i mean, their eyes will see differently then ours, so mabe whith all our limbs we look like octopi. or mabe we just smell bad, but it seems to me that they just know we aren't going to make good eating.
