Observant means that you pick up everything you can see without investigating. Clicking on your profile would make me inquisitive.
-
Sayo, I noticed that you spelled recognized with an "s." Because I am so observant, I believe that you are from England or Britain. Am I right? That's genius for you.
-
I actually don't have a religion *stares from the audience.* I never really bothered to learn too much about it, so I don't even have stored knowledge. Or are you suggesting that I'm dumb?
-
Hmmm, I cheated and looked at the answers. I'm not Christian so I wouldn't know some of the answers, and there are other answers that I wouldn't know because I never learned it in the first place. Like the one about South Africa. This isn't very accurate, so you're not a genius after all, sayonara:eyebrow:

This brings us to a very interesting point. How smart do you consider yourself in real life? I'd say that I'm fairly intelligent, but not like pro or genius. Oh, and what aspect of intelligence does this measure? Because there are different kinds. For instance, you could be bad at math but be great at art, so you'd be a creative thinker, not a logical one.
-
So you've got it?
-
Hey take it easy. j/k:D, you're not being pwned. In fact, I'm the one being pwned. I've only ever heard 7W of the W in America, but the answer is about the whole world-*HINT, HINT* If the average American scores only 1-5 (this test was probably meant for America) then Americans must be really stupid. Perhaps the foreign stereotypes are true?
-
No, genius, its something that you'll probably know if you live in America. SPOILER: Maybe you might find one on a postcard? I love pwning geniuses!
-
Huh? I thought that one was easy. I got that one in like, 3 seconds. K, I can't really talk. Cause you're genius and I'm merely intelligent.
-
ROFLMAO! Homework is a learning experience, not how intelligent you are. Nice try.
-
Man, so this is what science grew up to be, eh? If everyone started doing this, the general 50-50 balance of males and females would be broken. There wouldn't be enough of one sex to reproduce! But then again, that could be a good thing, population's already way too high.
-
I got 1-4, 7, 13, 16, 18, 20, 21, 23, 25-27, and 32. Hmmm, seems like you're a genius eh? And I'm only just intelligent.
-
Hi all! I found an intelligence test online: http://www.intelligence-test.net/part1/ Supposedly, if you get 19 or up right, then you're a genius. How accurate is this test? *optional: What was your score, mine was 15

Hey, thanks. The looks aren't important, just the brains. Seems like the Thinkpads are a good choice. She'll be using it for Internet research, word processing, powerpoint, and excel. You know, the classic academic stuff. Yeah, I was thinking that ranking, too. Thanks.

Wasn't Gore a scientist (or at least an observer of it) when he was a student and before he got involved in politics?
-
I was thinking about the Entertainment Software Rating Board the other day. It seems like the ratings are VERY inconsistent. For instance, Halo got an M when SOCOM got a T, although it's way more realistic and bloody. Who rates the games, and how? Any ideas on how accurate they are?
-
Yeah, I find that they're good when you need a break at the end of the day when all's said and done. Relieves stress sometimes. And sometimes, no A LOT of times, video games can increase stress if you're playing online against pros.

My family is getting a new laptop, and I was wondering if all the brilliant people here at SFN had a few suggestions, especially on specs. Since it's for my sister, who's going to college in a year, it'd be great if the comp had a perfect blend of power, mobility, and price. And cooling efficiency (I know, an impossible mix). Price comes first. Thanks to all beforehand.
-
No. Solid surfaces give more clearance and better ventilation, but it's not quite enough. And nitrogen would kill the laptop under heat stress. A laptop pad sounds like a good idea. Cheap, but it works. Also, would like to periodically thank everyone.

Was Gore exaggerating on purpose? I don't blame him, as people aren't going to react if he doesn't.
-
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought spontaneous generation (something living out of non-living material) was impossible. Pasteur? proved, for instance, that flies were atrracted to rotting meat and laid eggs on them, creating maggots. He disproved the theory that maggots came directly from rotting meat. It seems really impossible for non-organics to be become organics. How do you get everything to click togehter into life, anyways?

Adaptations to a flooding land.
Donut.Hole replied to ttyo888's topic in Ecology and the Environment
I came up with a really odd looking creature contemplating this. How about a fish-like creature with furry red gills, frog legs, and a tadpole tail? It'd be like the mudskipper fish. It could also have "air bags" that fill up with O2 from the water, causing it to surface. When it needs to go under, the organism could just let water into the bags, like a submarine. I'm not an expert ecologist, but I thought this would be kinda cool. Hope this helps. -
Yes, very. Although it might be off topic, I'd really like to know more about this. Nearly 2 billion will be unable to be confident about the water they drank? Seems like the future looks grim. Are there any ways to prevent them? Are there no easy answers?
-
Erm, I know that I should respect my elders, especially you, Phi, but could we get back on topic? Any more contributions to the topic of whether Gore's apocolyptic future will really happen in a decade?
-
Sry, my fault. Was just a question that began to dominate the thread. Alright, back on the topic of the accuracy of Gore's data.
