  1. No one really knows. Gravity is just some oddball. However, some scientists theorize that planets create "folds" or "dips" in the fabric of space, pulling objects near them. The more mass an object has, the large dip it can create, and the more gravity it will have.
  2. To starter of thread: Wha? I thought magnets were just a collection of charges moving in one way, cause the domains are lined up.
  3. To me, science is any controlled procedure that allows you to find out something.
  4. Don't give up! (I know, corny.) You're right that it may be getting a tad late, but you've still got a shot at it. It will be hard, no doubt about that, but you need to finish highschool, go to college, grad school, and after all that, you can become a physicist. It'd be such a waste of intelligence and dreams. You know you can do better, and I can guarantee you'll regret it if you don't head back to school. Best of luck, sir.
  5. This photo may help: http://scientificsonline.com/product.asp?pn=3123801&bhcd2=1206762905 I kinda know a bit about it, but don't trust me too much. Use some strong rope to attach to two ends of a steel sheet, to create a bow. Mount a wooden stock to it and tie the topes to a dowel. Mount the dowel on some wheeled frame and attach a crank to one end. It will look like a wheel-mounted crossbow (the ballista was its predecessor). Put your projectile (historically boulders and such) on the stock, so that it is in front of the string. Crank the handle to pull the ropes and bend the steel sheet. Release and send whatever you've packed flying! Hope you got all that mumbo-jumbo.
  6. I mean C-cells. Jeez!
  7. Hey Everyone! I'm building a custom lightsaber with my pal, antimatter. We're going to use an 8" chrome bicycle seat post neatly superglue strips of black vinyl to make a grip slide a few gaskets on the pipe to advance the grip throw on a switch add a 28" tranluscent PVC tube with cap, and cram 4 D-Cells and LED's into the hilt. However, I was wondering what type of LED to use. We thought of using K2 High-Intensity LED's, but will this create the sacred "red halo around white blade" effect? Thanks for taking the time to answer, or just to consider the question!
