Dione - A moon of Saturn discovered in 1684 by Giovanni Domenico Cassini. [it wasn't named until 1847.] Dione is in a 1:2 orbital resonance with Saturn's moon Enceladus and Dione itself has two Trojan moons, Helene and Polydeuces.

Tonight's waxing gibbous moon. ~93% Almost Blue
-
Nereid - A moon of Neptune that has the highest eccentricity of orbit of any satellite in the solar system. Named for sea nymphs of Greek mythology.
-
Nakhlite - A rare class of meteorite originating on Mars & composed mainly of pyroxenes.

Yes. Were it not the case then the mathematicians here would be falling all over themselves to sing your praises. It is the case and they're not. But it's the premise of your thread!? You asked for mathematical criticism and when you get it you yawn. D'oh. You already admitted you can't do that when you said: I am not derailing the thread and I will post as I please within the rules. Just because this is the Speculations section, you are not exempt from rigor.
-
I and others showed you why your math is wrong when you use a negative sign and you rejected our input. Simply mapping the primes is not predictive and having to constantly change your set values may satisfy your belief, but it is mathematically worthless.
-
Holmberg radius - A measure of the semi-major axis of a galaxy.
-
You are using a graphic to represent primes and so did Ulam. In both cases the 'predictive' aspect quickly fails. This thread is a subset of the other. Your 'little math' is a big problem and again you cannot predict 'each' higher prime. A subset is not a derail. We look at many different aspects of primes in the other thread. Meh I see what you are doing and that's why I am being critical.
-
I brought up Ulam's spiral in post #5 of Sunshaker's original thread of his diagrams. Frankly, I don't see why this thread is separate as it is more of the same. As you said in your other thread on prime numbers: Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

How does the OSF rank relative to other science forums?
Acme replied to Elite Engineer's topic in The Lounge
I'd bet that better than 95.32986 % of those members are autobot and other spammer accounts. On that accord this place is probably on par with other forums. The number of posts likely reflects how long the forum has existed so it's not much of a measure to judge popularity against younger forums. -
Yardang - A type of long hill that is pointed on both ends & lies parallel to the winds that create it. Seen to date on Earth & Mars.
-
-7+90=83, not 97. The other number sentences are wrong too.
-
Betelgeuse, Betelgeuse, Betelgeuse - Red supergiant star in the constellation Orion; 520 light-years from our solar system and over 600 million miles in diameter.
-
Albedo - Ratio of solar radiation reflected from a space body to the radiation received by the body.
-
I see a problem inasmuch as terrestrial plants are accustomed to circadian light/darkness and the Moon's light/darkness is monthly. Not insurmountable using shades to darken and electric light to lighten, but a significant addition of resources.
-
Autumnal Equinox - The time in September when day & night are of equal length as the Sun crosses the celestial equator. Tip: So as not to have to reread the entire thread, use the 'Search this Topic' function to check for repeat entries before posting.
-
Yes; let's do have a look at my post #138 in the Prime Numbers thread that I referred you to. [bolding mine.]
-
I overlooked your repetition of my saros entry, can you see your way to overlook my repetition of your nadir? Naiad = Another moon of Neptune discovered by Voyager II.
-
Nadir - The point on the celestial sphere directly below the observer and opposite the zenith.
-
This is basic algebra and a question answered by a simple web search. A thread on such a topic is hardly necessary unless you first searched and didn't understand. In that case you need to cite your source, quote from it, and be specific about your misunderstanding. Ask Dr. Math: FAQ Negative x Negative = Positive

The place for the discussion is the other thread; that's my objection to this thread. As to the definition and other pertinent aspects of considering 1 a prime, they are covered -again extensively- in the link I gave. Read it all, then if you have questions post them in the other thread with quotes from the reference that lead to your questions.
-
Thalassa - A moon of Neptune discovered in 1989 by the Voyager II spacecraft.
-
I gave a link to you with an extensive answer to this question in post #38 of the Prime Numbers thread. I see no point in starting yet another thread.
-
Catena - A chain of impact craters.
