  3. The obvious is that which is never seen until someone expresses it simply as an hilarious butt joke. ~ Khalily Gibrano
  4. Something like ocean crossings of a few centuries past?
  5. Yes well, I think it is you that is confused. Inasmuch as you seem to regularly ignore all objections in this thread and simply repeat your unsubstantiated assertions, I'll just leave you to your own devices.
  6. That damnable mechanical coercion cape will do it every time.
  7. I don't know how things are in Malaysia, but the kind of talk as in the underlined-bolded is enough to have a student be suspended or expelled from school here in the USA and certainly it's enough to get a visit from the police if they are notified and quite possibly get you arrested and jailed. Here you are talking about wanting fairness and thinking of others as good advice and yet you then go on to make a threat on people and property. Shame on you. I have half a notion toto report you to your school officials myself.
  8. This would depend on the net force. If the magnetic field's force is less powerful than the already put-in-place gravitational forces, there could be a transfer of energy, but no detectable push/pull by both bodies that could be detected. Nonsense. Arc is claiming the Sun's magnetism is driving plate motion and a force with that power would have a significant torque component. You are mistaken. You can read up on some of what I refer to in Mike Smith's thread Between the two great "Mass Extinction Events" and Serendipity ! starting with my post #23. That does not answer my criticism in the least. See my response to Unity+. As I said before, why not write that Italian professor you cite as a reason to construct your idea and ask him what he thinks?
  9. This is where our other current hot topic may come to bear, that of the neg rep. In cases such as we have under discussion, use it & move on. Bad putty tat! . One born every minute. You callin' me a sucker!? ... What would I do?
  10. I thought the anecdotal example was not funny as well, but as I just said, there is such a wide variance in what people consider funny that attempting to institute humor police is an exorcise in fertility.
  11. That's a good boy! I knew your bark was worse than your bite . . . . . . . now let's see if we can get you neutered. Exotic huh, you should see where mantle convection has wandered off to. The decades spent looking for signs of convection and then mantle plumes has lead to a meandering chain of inventing gizmos and whatchamacallits to explain the discrepancies in their models. Here's some of their imaginative solutions; ...This will outline for you the connection between the solar magnetic/geologic/climate connection. You will also find an outline of the model there as well as other surprising ideas in these regards. Well, I wouldn't bet the farm on the weakness of my bite as evidenced by my bark. So anyway, I follow geology and I'm not unfamiliar with ideas on mantle plumes. For example, one fairly recent hypothesis puts forward evidence that some of them are the result of large space body impacts. As I commented earlier and you may have missed, there could be no significant force transferred magnetically from the Sun to Earth that would not impart a torque on Earth and there is no such effect in evidence. Since you quoted that Italian professor's work, I suggest you write him about your ideas straight away and then let us know how it goes.
  12. With all do respect, do not tell me what to do. No problem, I don`t think I should apologize according to Mr.Ophiolite`s law. Yet, anyway, I should say sorry if my earlier post hurt you. Sorry. No need to apologize Nick. You see, I was making a humorous remark in that I did exactly what I suggested you not do, i.e. 'don't tell me what to do' is telling you what to do. Humor can be a subtle thing and some people can't tell a joke and some people can't get a joke. My original post on the difference between humor and odor is in fact a joke that points up that very truism. Add to that the fact that humor varies widely by culture and age and there is no end of opportunity for misunderstanding. But as the old saying goes, nothing ventured, nothing gained and as there is much to be gained in humor one can, as you conclude, just try and use their best judgment before throwing out an intended witticism. Let the jocularity resume!
  13. Another problem I see with the proposed magnetic force from Sol idea is that it would most certainly impose a torque on the Earth, and yet the Earth's rotation is well accounted for by the usual physics for orbiting bodies.
  14. No, there is not an established mechanism. It is speculation and lacking the math to boot. How many joules of energy are being transferred by the speculated magnetic connection? I have looked into and that's why I have posted to the effect that it does not stand up under scrutiny.
  15. Hey! I saw her first. I haven't had spleen or lungs, but I'm intrigued by the mixture. If we have any such here it would mostly likely be at a specialty meat market. 1. Here too from place-to-place and time-to-time. 2. Will check it. 3. D'oh!
  16. Mostly known these days as an [usually] offensive term for gay, but in the US faggot has in the past referred to bundles of sticks as well as cigarettes. I'm not sure if tongue is considered offal, but I occasionally eat beef tongue. Do you eat pork tongue? Is your farming urban? What else are you growing/raising?
  17. Acme, if I ever acquire a pitbull I will undoubtedly name it after you. Woof! OK. But Doglioni goes on to say: So there is no call or need to invoke anything exotic such as your hypothesized solar magnetic link to account for the discrepancy, rather it is a call and a need to understand and model the effect of Earth's rotation on convection cells.
  18. It seems you're assuming a handgun or assault rifle here. When I was young we used our rifles to make sure coyotes didn't get to any of the animals on the farm. We also used them to hunt during hunting season. Fundamentally they served a useful purpose and they were used to kill things that were killed for a purpose. Much like trees that are being killed for a purpose. But so many people are extremely dumb in the way they use their weapons. While I agree guns are meant to kill animals as well as people, John is not off base concerning the topic of this thread which is Open-Carry and Stand-Your-Ground laws. The intentions of the people staging open-carry events and promoting stand-your-ground are entirely focused on using guns to kill people. Moreover, since today hunters make up a minority of gun owners, that old-days dog don't hunt. U.S. Gun Owners Outnumbered Hunters by 5 to 1 in 2011 Now just to personalize this, I grew up around guns, I trained in an NRA riflery program as a young boy, and I make a habit of procuring and carrying a handgun into the back-country when I have occasion to go. What is going on today with the gun lobby is worlds away in temper & tone from my American experience.
  19. Ahhh. Superior force of armed civilians meaning more small arms I take it. Then fo shizzle the military could and would up the anti. Never come to a tank battle with an AR15. Agreed. I think the point of the chart was to show the absurdity of the gun fanatic argument that the government is out to take their small arms. Speaking of small, the simple truth is that the male gun fanatics are just overcompensating for their little schnitzels [perceived or otherwise] in the best way they know how.
  20. Pardon; are you asking me about the figures I quoted in post #21? I don't understand the question in any regard.

  23. As Sato says, there are some sort of exceptions here, but these tend to be in relation to products and services. For example you can patent industrial process, computer codes and airplane wings. However the basic science behind these remains public. In most cases the journals take the copyright and the author gets limited rights. A copyright is only as good as your ability to enforce it.
  24. With all do respect, do not tell me what to do. Imagination was given to people to compensate them for what they are not; a sense of humor to console them for what they are. ~ Francis Bacon source
