Nice try but the logic doesn't follow. The bark of a tree and separation of continents (which is what the picture shows) happen by completely different processes. The Gulf of Aden and the Persion Gulf did not form because the earth is drying out. Let's face it, both places aren't dry -- they have water in them! Instead, they are a product of plate tectonics.
The bark of a tree, OTOH, is formed from cells of the tree. The pattern is not formed by "drying" and it is just coincidence that this part of earth bears a (very) superficial resemblance to tree bark.
Sorry, but the planet is not a living organism.
