  1. Apologies! Hazardous is a wrong word. Which of the three emits higher microwave radiation?
  2. Recently, I have been coming across the news on BLE/ BT 4.0 on "Home Automation". However, I would like someone to clear my queries (my knowledge in electronics/ networking is limited) 1. Cost of BLE vs Zigbee vs Z-wave technology? 2. Can devices with older Bluetooth versions (BT 2.0 or BT 2.1 or BT 3.0) communicate with a device (say iPhone 4S) installed with BT 4.0 technology? 3. I read, that the range of Class-I BT compatible device is 100m and the range of Class-II BT compatible device is 10 m. So, if both the devices are placed 90 m apart, can both the devices communicate now via BT (since the Class-I device doesn't fall within the range of Class-II BT signals)? 4. Signal range of Zigbee and Z-wave? 5. What are the advantages/ disadvantages and the hazards of higher frequency ranges (The frequency range of BT and Zigbee is 2.4 GHz and Z-wave is ~908 MHz)? and finally 6. Which of the three is more hazardous in terms of signal radiation emission? Regards
  3. valid points! I have a couple of doubts on blue tooth tech. 1. what would be the signal range that can be reached by various bluetooth versions (V2.0, V2.1, V3.0, V4.0)? 2. The signal range of my Bluetooth transceiver (class 1) is 100 m and of my device (say smartphone) is 10 m. Now with this transceiver, can my device send signals/ data which is more than 10 m away from transceiver? If possible please provide me some links for the above queries and Thnx for the reply guys Regards
  4. My knowledge in electronics is limited. In general, the television remote use IR for sending signals. I would like to know if the same signals can be transmitted using bluetooth. If so are there any disadvantages in using bluetooth technology in television remote? Regards
  5. All the vehicles (4 wheelers and sometimes 2 wheelers) in the market today possess various engine maps in the vehicle's ECU. There a number of maps related to vehicle top speed. However, all the data in the vehicle's ECU is not rewritable (not sure about this info). Can any one confirm me this info? Also, if I want to redefine the vehicle's top speed at the push of a button is it possible to perform this function? I hope my question is bit clear. Regards.
  6. Hello Science Forums, I have a car travelling a certain velocity and absorbs x Joule of Kinetic energy on impact. I don't have the time duration of impact. I need to calculate the force at which the car made the impact. Can someone suggest me on how to find the force? Regards
  7. Doubt cleared. Thanks for the replies.
  8. I don't understand what u mean by Bot (the autonomous program on a network or a robot) the function of the network is just to redirect the received messages as SMS to some other mobile. No data is decoded into some form of data. Is it not possible to create such a network program?
  9. My question may sound crazy. however, I would like to know if a message sent as an SMS through mobile can be read automatically in a website. The website has to receive the data from SMS, process it and has to send a suitable reply as an SMS to another mobile. All this process has to be carried out in autonomous manner. Is it possible? Regards.
