Hello, I would like to learn different things about computers and stuff...could you mention some good books, sites, etc. for me to learn from? I can use a computer to do my daily work etc. etc. etc.....but I would also like to learn other things. Many of you must have seen some of the threads i have put on about my computer's security, and i must confess.....i didn't understand quite a lot of what you guys were talking about.For exapmle: /whois, /dns, IRC, plugins, BIOS, the list goes on and on and on and on. To answer your question YT2095, i want to protect myself. Someone keeps hacking me while i am using the internet. An error sign comes up and the message says "Ha! I got you NOW!!":mad: :mad: or some other stupid message. What is this, a computer joking with me(im sure they lack the brainpower to joke) or someone hacking.... Also while i am playing online a guy keeps throwing me out of the game, AND HE IS NOT AN ADMIN! I'm pretty sure he is the hacker too... I have no idea what to do... What do i use? Security programs, Proxy servers, WHAT??? I'll probably contact my internet provider, but what will they do, ask for more money to make a security upgrade that wont do nothing.... I need a low budget solution. Encyrypted.

I have another question. If i use a public online anonymity proxy server, how safe is it? Can the owners of the server access my computer, or send viruses and trojans etc. to my computer? Plus, Is Norton Internet Security and Antivirus 2001 a good protection software? It comes with it's own inbuilt firewall etc. and i keep on updating it with live update and automatic update. Hello, I play some computer games online and i thought i was relatively safe until there was a guy who was able to get my exact ip address while i was playing yesterday and he kicked me out of the game itself(i was playing Halo PC online)!! I have stopped playing right now, but i would like to know how to protect myself from these 'hacks'. Plus..how was he able to get my ip address:confused:???
