I dunno about other countries, but I think the biggest problem for the U.S. is the pure capitalism. The rich only get richer, and the poor only get poorer.

Damn, and I wanted to be the next pope. Seriously though, this guy doesn't seem like someone who is supposed to be teaching people about morals and peace. Along with what others have said... Manning antiaircraft guns? Oh yeah, that's real peaceful... And this guy gets his own country?

I really don't think humans can comprehend infinity. As it just goes on forever. My opinion and I stick with this is there are 2 things that humans can never fully comprehend: nothingness, and infinity. Because we really have nothing to describe them with.

OK, what Ophiolite is trying to say is that though humans and apes are related evolutionary, man is not descended from apes. Both man and apes are descended from the same creature, but that does not mean we are their descendants. That would make us relatives evolutionary, NOT descendents. Using your family tree example Mum +Dad to brother + sister. Just because the sister is related to the brother, she is not his descendant. But they are both descendents of the parents.

As it's been said before most of the time it is the herbivores that shrink when living in a more isolated environment. And granted, environment does not always play a part in the size of a creature, but it can. As I said, desert animals tend to be smaller because there is not enough food in the desert. Where as many plains animals are larger because the abundance of food. Buffolos, Elephants, and giraffes would be an example. Girrafes being so large because they had to reach the top of the trees, there aren't really any large trees in the desert, so therefore no need for tall animals there.

Ok... I thought that humans and apes descended from the same evolutionary line. In other words humans did not evolve from apes directly. But they evolved from ape-like creatures which then took different evolutionary paths and formed both humans and apes as we know them today.

Well, first alligators ARE the predators. So they need to stay rather large to go hunt food. I dunno about the predator thing, but... about creatures living in areas where food isn't readily available. Evolution would make them smaller. I can see how that would work. Like how many desert animals tend to be rather small compared to say, animals living in plains or forests.

I dunno about the UK, but some states have those in the US. You get like 5 or 10 cents per bottle, depending on which state. I do know Michigan has that. It's quite handy after a party, you can get some money back by turning in bottles.

I wouldn't really trust a dream dictionary or a website to interpret dreams. Because the things in your dreams probably mean different things depending on your thoughts on whatever you dreamed about, and your past experiences.

I couldn't agree with you more. I was shocked at the people at the republican convention with purple hearts drawn on their band-aids. Kerry fought in that war, and was injured fighting for our contry and deserves respect for that. Obviously, people who could be that disrespectful have never served in the army, or known someone who has served. And now some people dislike Kerry for speaking out against some of the actions in Vietnam? Many soldiers did. There were some very awful things happening over there, mainly the massacering of innocent citizens. And the fact that a man like Bush is speaking against Kerry's war record is just annoying. Someone who never fought, and never even showed up for his simple duties. What gives Bush the right to say anything against somebody who actaully had the guts to join the army and go to war?

Hm. This triangle thing is becoming more and more interesting. I've been looking at some articles, because I saw it on yahoo news too. It's been seen all across the Us, and in other countries to. Part of me wants to shout: "Yes!! Aliens." But then, I also find that there is likely a more logical explanation. Though, if it's the military I can't figure out the over sea sightings.

The military strikes again. Much like that little white light that would follow cars around, and was on international news and everything. Don't know if anyone else remembers when that happened. I'm sure I could pull up an article if anyone's interested. But a lot of these things seem to be military tech. They do have some advanced stuff at some of those bases... Didn't they develop the internet?.. Or was it something else... Anyway, I know they have some advanced technology.

Nothing. That's the point. There are still terrorists in Saudi Arabia. We know it, and yet we do not do anything about. What gives Bush the right to decide who should be stopped and who should be allowed to continue acts like this? I guess it just depends on who gives him more, right?

I'd also point out that many American and coalition troops have died over in Iraq too. And that we went to war on false information. And that Bush went against the UN, seemingly in an attempt to get everyone to hate us. If that was his intent he's doind pretty darn good at it. Also under Bush and his cabinet members' commands 1000s of Arabs in America have been detained for months without a reason. And now they are detaining Iraqis over in their country for no reason. Are things any better in Iraq? Not really. Ah, and let's not forget the Saudis. The ones Bush and his father seem to be working so hard at keeping in power. Why? Becuase they give us oil? The Saudis also harbour terrorists. They were found to have a terrorist training camp. Why doesn't Bush do anything about these guys? Or does nobody care about evil dictators unless President Bush crusades against them?

I've been going through pretty bad depression lately. I'm on medicine to counteract it. Even with the medicine it gets pretty bad every now and then. I barely sleep and sometimes I can't even eat very much. So on top of theses emotions I'm incredibly tired all day. I do agree with Thales. Keeping active is key. Whenever I'm really down I find someone to talk to. Or, better yet, I talk to someone and play soccer. Two things to take my mind off the feelings. That's the key, always try to keep your mind engaged. Do something you really like to do when the depression gets hard. A puzzle, a game, sports, something. I know sometimes it's hard though to even do anything when you feel like that, no matter how much you like it. Just push yourself to do something you enjoy. And it may not take your mind off the depression completely, but it will at least make you feel a little better. I also do meditation and relaxation techniques. It does help. Just think positive thoughts and let yourself relax. Relax your mind and body when you do this and it will help. Just keep thinking positive. I know what you're going through, and I know it can be hard at times. But just try to look on the bright side of things, no matter how dark they may seem.
