  1. I can see where you're coming from with the evolutionary behaviour. Things like nail biting may very well be instinct that some humans keep from their ancestors, and others have left behind. Actually, nose-picking, as gross as this may sound, helps develop immune systems in little children. Eating what is basically dirt, somehow helps the immune system. I suppose in the same way that those exposed to sicknesses when young can become stronger against it, such as getting chicken pox when young. I highly doubt that this would have anything to do with one's intelligence level. Though there are problems that tend to be common in some of the world's brilliant minds, such as dislexia. I know Einstien was dislexic, and a few others were also. Something about the way ones brain works at that level I believe. Though, there are dislexic people who are not very bright. So maybe it is a common factor in more intelligent people, that they tend to bite their nails. By no means would that be saying maybe most nail biters are smarter than the average intelligence level. I dunno though. I mean, have any studies been conducted on this? Maybe you could try your own study?
  2. Hmm... You have a point. Maybe we should start up a conversation in your newbie forum. We are both new...
  3. Tad Williams is good (the Otherworld Series), or Niel Gaiman.
  4. Yeah, I see it now. HOW ARE YOUR HEXIDECIMAL SKILLS...I KNOW THAT YOU LOVE MATH SO I THOUGH I WOUILD SHARE THIS WITH YOU Probably means THOUGHT, missed a T
  5. Yes archery . Not many places where I can practice, but I love it when I do get the chance for some practice. My dream is getting into the Olympics, haha. I guess I just gotta keep practicing at it.
  6. Mmkay. Cheery bye for now. Do come back to this thread the next time you're on.
  7. Well, for the degree it just means I take science and art classes and it all counts towards one degree. It's basically so I don't have to double-major. That was my original plan, but this is easier Wow, I love hockey!! Yes, I know who Brad Richards is. I wish they had girls hockey where I live. But they will where I go to college. Of course I'll be playing floor hockey, I'm not the best skater. Soccer and archery are my main sports though.
  8. Yeah. I'm planning on majoring in integreted sciences. That's where they mix art and science together. I'd like to be an astronomer until I get noticed in the art world. And then, I'd like to use my physics to help me with space ships, since I write a lot of sci-fi scripts for toons I'd like to make. Do you plan on a career in science?
  9. heehee, I know. But he's a big wimp. If there's a storm he has to jump up on the couch and sit right next to people (or on them)
  10. I'm 16, I've never worked a day in my life (unless you count chores) All I've made is a little thing where a dragon breathes fire, and a colourful little dancing thing that goes to Strong Bad's techno. (go to Homestarrunner.com if you don't know what I'm talking about)
  11. I used to have all three colours. Now I have two black ones. One weighs 120 pounds. My brother the vet says that's unnaturally large for a labrador retriever. But, then, he's three feet tall.
  12. Ha, yeah. But I really don't have the time for that. I made a cartoon, I'll make money off that. heeheehee...
  13. Cute. My friend has one of those. I'm more of a fan of the bigger dogs. I have two labrador retrievers, I used to have three.
  14. Hmm... An interesting idea. Lucrative... But, alas, I am an artist, not a programmer.
  15. I like my Mac. I will not give into the majority and support the evil that is Bill Gates!!! *ahem* Anyway... Agreed. I don't see why more companies don't make things for Macs, just more money for them right? But, then, they don't want to take the time to change the game so it works for Macs.
  16. Right, gotta check that. I really think they need to make more games for Mac.
  17. Why would we take offence? I think it is Phil who should be taking offence to that comment. But, yes, it's rather obvious this man has too much time on his hands. Speaking of which, here's another site made by those with a bit too much spare time: http://labworks.hms.harvard.edu/fruit_fly/ It is the fruit fly fight club.
  18. Hm, maybe I will try it. There a Mac version?
  19. Hmmm, fibromyalgia sounds a lot like what I have. It took the doctors a while to figure out what I had. I was having troubles breathing while excercising so they thought it was asthma. That when on for a year, until I finally saw a neurologist. She said it sounded like myasthenia gravis. Did some tests, and turns out that's what I have. But it usually doesn't show up until the 30s, so I was kind of an oddity. I've been having lots of troubles with it since then, with medication and hospital visits and all. And there was a point where I was so weak I could barely walk. LucidDreamer is right. A positive attitude helps a lot. And finding a support group, or a counselor, something like that will also help to deal with it a lot. And by the way, don't feel bad if people think say you're a hypocondriach. The first neurologist told me that everything was in my head. If I'd listened to him, who knows what what of happened.
  20. I think, that whether or not the puppy survives this event, it's not gonna bounce. It's just gonna hit the ground and go "thud" or "splat".
  21. Never played Doom 3. I played the first Doom once, it was OK. Nothing special though, that's just my opinion.
  22. EQ is Everquest. I love RPG games. Mainly the D&D types. I like Neverwinter Nights and Baldurs Gate a lot.
  23. That is quite the odd website. And this guy has merchandise? Too funny. Would anyone actually buy those?
  24. Maybe... thanks for the thought And sorry bout the spelling... Vein... I'll spell it right from now on. I'm really not a very good speller.
