I sometimes wonder........... .................Sorry I wandered a bit then, but before the last ice age what was the average global temperature. Maybe it was so high that the whole world was tropical, and a lot of the water we are afraid of in the form ice was then in the form of vapour distributing the heat and maintaining a more stable temp. There would have been more land in a hospitable condition. Take aim ....FIRE!

Faster than the Speed of light!
RICHARDBATTY replied to Encrypted's topic in Modern and Theoretical Physics
I think this experiment gives the same illusion as the light through ceasium gas one. Its just a phase shift where the leading edge of the wave becomes the peak and it looks like the peak got to the end sooner than it should. I'm probably wrong and this is just an idea but I thought it might help. -

I know of a flight with people that got to around the twenty mile mark. A smaller weight may be able to get higher and there are plans for a two man team to go to 25 miles in space suits on an open platform. Rather them than me. Any way, if you could get 25 miles out of the baloon then use a cannon to give an initial thrust, and take into account the lower drag would you not be able to use a small boost to get the rest of the way up.

I like the idea, its seems a bit like the the way the earths field protects us but with a nos kit fitted.
-
Could you send up a smaller booster on a balloon and launch from that.
-
Could you buy one then send it back under its own power then claim you returned it because it was faulty.

I don,t know if this is the right place or if its been done before but what would it take to create a cell. Maybe the first cell didn,t have a membrane and just formed a large amount of celular material in a crevice in a rock. What would be required to make a protein and what about reproduction.

I would like to know the reason for trying to exclued bacteria. I heard of an instance where bacteria studied in a lab changed so much it became almost dependant on anti biotics for survival. If thats not evolving to suit the enviroment what is?.

Sorry but I think the spray you are talking about uses positive presure. A straw goes into the liquid and has a valve in it with the nozzle attached. The pump forces air into the bottle above the liquid which puts the liquid at higher pressure than the air outside the nozzle so when the valve opens it pushes its way up the straw and out through the nozzle. You may like to try the inflatable pumps that are around as most of them suck to deflate as well. You could try a small compressor but attach the hose to the inlet. Hope this helps. I don't know what kind of vacum you are wanting to generate.

See your point. Maybe some thing needs to be done about the run away law suite mentality. We have a similar problem with people abusing rights given to protect them so I suppose everyones in the same boat to some extent.

Don't you just hate this sort of thing. They stuff up get punished then pass the penalty back onto the people who were wronged in the first place. I think there should be some sort of monopoly comission to set the prices.

Most of these use volt multipiers so you just use less stages to keep the volts down. This will also make it easier to find components as they will be lower voltage. Big resistance on the output to limit the current.

What about algie. I encounter this in my work and there are many different colours a white translucent slime and black among them. This stuff grows mainly in the wash tank and water channels but has been known to grow in the fix tank which is acid and all sorts of other crap. Theres silver and chemicals and even algicide going in which is an extream biocide soup and the stuff still grows in the dark.

Provided it was fully controlable I think it could be of benefit. What about heating the sea around drought ridden countrys down wind of the land mass to encourage rain. Could it also then provide a shade to cool the air above that country. What if you could focus a beam at another planet.

Well even if it were possible you would still arrive at a point where something already happened or existed so I don't think it would help. But thats just my opinion.

Was this for me. If it is you should know I have the math abilty of a dead ferrit. To know what I mean you would have to read my theory of space time and movement. I didn't finish all of it like inertia because no one seemed to like it, but if you understand it you will see the quantum relationship.

Do you mean travel forward far enough and you will get to the past.
-
I think this is where motionless time travel is not possible and travel to the past is not possible. An object traveling into the future will always be at the point its past determined. The object doesn't yet exist in the future so when a course of action is taken it results in the future if motion is used. A jump to a past/future point in time without motion would mean something would have to move to allow you to exist as would a trip to the past using motion.

I think its because the split particle once occupied the same point in space time and still does according to space time but to an observer the parts seperate. The wierdness barrier is the point at which an object can not be said to occupy one point. Thats where I started to come up with that theory no one seemed to like and so this is only my opinion.

I personaly thought it might affect the reactions in a fast rotating sun. The reactions near its surface would take longer and to some extent delay activity deeper within it. The amount of dilation would be small so I don't think anyone has bothered to take it into account and I posted something on these lines before but no one seemed interested. Sorry.
