unless the conveyor belt has enough friction to get the air moving at about the same speed, no.

that seems like a pretty reasonable expectation, but i would bet that its incorrect. while some anorexic people probably do have lower, or higher, appetites than the average person i would bet that its about the same, on average, as the rest of the population. i think the circumstances that eventually drive someone to an eating disorder are severe enough that having a greater, or lesser appetite would be inconsequential.

what to do with a depressed friend?
Callipygous replied to clarisse's topic in Psychiatry and Psychology
while they are definately not a cure all, and shouldnt be used in every situation, i do have many, many friends who lead much happier more socially active lives largely thanks to such medication. -
what to do with a depressed friend?
Callipygous replied to clarisse's topic in Psychiatry and Psychology
the best thing you can do for her is probably to not change. be her friend. dont try to cheer up a depressed person, it doesnt work, it just makes them feel like you dont understand. just be there for her, however shes feeling. also... "Psychiatric drugs never helped anyone It's just to save time and money." completely ignore that ^^ garbage. -
no. anorexics have a desire to take control of some part of their lives and achieve a form of "perfection" that has been mis-defined by their low selfesteem and/or other social and family life factors. no matter how skinny an anorexic person gets they will still see fat that they "need" to lose. any loose skin, any bulge, any place where they can feel anything but bone and skin is imperfection and it becomes an obsession that they need to remove. it doesnt have to do with apetite, it doesnt even really have to do with food. at its core its not even about weight, it has to do with the image they have of themselves, their self esteem, their self worth. its not about the food.

its a much deeper psychological problem than that. its more about control than looks. its based in low self esteem and disfunctional family lives. i cant really adequately explain it, so im just going to leave it there. its a very deep, complicated psychological problem.

the people at school/your parents are not interested in controlling your every action. they are interested in helping you grow up to be a successful human being who contributes to society. baring that in mind, it seems pretty obvious that the "bullshit" they spout, isnt actually bullshit, but good information to help you stay alive and healthy. on to more medical stuff.... there is a reason you have hunger. your body is telling you your being stupid and that it needs fuel. just like pain, it is your bodies way of alerting you to a need, not some pesky habit it just has. affects of self starvation... death seems the most obvious. earlier than that it depends how far you have taken it. if your a female between the age of 12-14 and about 20 (the most common group) one of your biggest, or most threatening to your future, problems will probably be bone loss. during that age your body is building up the bone structure that it will use for the rest of your life. when you lose enough weight you stop having your period, your period releases hormones that stimulate bone growth. if you go more than 3 months without a period you should see your doctor because youve gone far enough that its a serious health risk. another of the more serious problems is heart failure. your body needs fuel to keep going, just because you stop feeding it doesnt mean it stops consuming fuel. it has to get energy somewhere, the first place it turns for quick fuel is muscle, and when youve eaten away all of your fat thats all it uses. your heart is a muscle, when you eat it it eventually stops working. those are the most serious problems, there are all sorts of other bad things that happen to your body from starving it, but its 2:18 where i am so i dont care enough to keep going at this point. also, quite frankly, ive spent a lot of time on eating disorder websites trying to understand the mentality, i recognize the way you talk very well, and i understand that there isnt really any point in trying to have a logical conversation about it. there are people here im sure can give you all the in depth info you could ever want about your body, so enjoy, im sure youll learn a lot.

its all about vodka and rockstar... but anyway, yeah, ive heard similar warnings. from what ive seen it seems like people are worried about it, but that no one has actually done any studies or research to see if it might be harmful.

strange.... thats not at all what i was taught. although i always did think that teacher was a little too full of himself.... maybe he was wrong : P

why wouldnt the air tight harddrive work in a vacuum? also, window cleaner on a monitor is really not a good idea. the spray likes to mist a little and you dont want that drifting down into the electrically charged parts of your monitor. espeically while your still holding the bottle. if at all, make sure you spray into the rag, then wipe.

swiffer. anything else that isnt a spray.

isnt that the other way around? id and ego, with superego moderating? O.o

i dont have much (any) expertise in this area, but what i would think intuitively is that since movement is cause by energy, not mass (that is, when pool balls collide they transfer energy, not mass), that forces act instantly. mass cant be transferred instantly, but cant energy?

since you said "anymore" im guessing it used to be doing it just fine. did you install anything recently? itunes? realplayer? my mother had a problem where she installed some program like that (a program that deals with playing or burning cds or dvds) and it conflicted with the stuff that was already installed for your cd player. you might be able to just update the drivers or something but what she had to do is have tech support walk her through deleting and replacing registry keys : P

no idea, but if anyone did know, im betting they would at least need to know what level of math you are currently at.
-
maybe, but think about what you would have to have for padding to keep an egg from cracking after being thrown half a football field. if not heavy it would probably at least be bulky. i think to throw it that far your going to need a pretty decent sized trebuchet. maybe im wrong : P
-
my buddy wants forums on his site, i suggested the software we use here, then i discovered it was a bit out of the desired budget. is there good cheap/free forum software? opensource maybe?
-
you need a good trebuchet to get that 50m... if it were just an egg it might not be as hard, but you have to get the egg plus enough padding that it doesnt break after being hurled into the air by a medieval siege weapon. good luck with that.

he doesnt have DDR : P or is that an accronym that gets reused for different things?

my friend set up this domain for me, my brother, him, and another one of our close friends to use as an email address and place to post pictures and the like. im trying to get the email to work through thunderbird and its not working right. i can recieve messages but i cant get outgoing to work. i have tried using the outgoing server provided by the site and their recommended alternative, my ISPs mail server, neither of them work. when i hit send and type in the password the prompt goes away and then comes back blank again. if i just hit enter with no pass it gives me some error about being unable to connect to the server. i know this isnt much info to work with, but i also know that there are some pretty gee... i mean, intelligent people on this site. im sure youll be able to figure it out the problem has been resolved. : ) id like to note that the problem was not on my end.

its a different number. the two are related pretty simply, but this is yet another thing i have forgotten the specifics of. something about clockspeed i think? anyway, the equivalent big number of your pc 133 is something like 2100 or 2700. not as old as it seemed, but yes, still behind.

the rule i generally go by is get GOOD stuff, then just make sure you make use of it for a few years so its worth the cost. if you get a modern motherboard, modern memory will be compatable. all you have to do is make sure if you get more than one stick, make them both the same. it does actually get more complicated though... if you use two hardrives there are some issues, but they can be easily avoided by just setting them to cable select, instructions on how to do so can be found on the harddrive usually. pretty much every card you use is going to be PCI, with the exception of graphics cards. most graphics cards are AGP (which isnt on your mobo) some of the newest ones are PCI express. to avoid problems with all that, you can usually just check with someone in the store to make sure they will work. or if your not a gamer, you can just use the onboard graphics which is probably what your mobo has.

its really very easy to build a comp. get all the right pieces (you can run a list by us if your unsure), know how to use a screwdriver, and everything pretty much goes into whereever you can make it fit without forcing it...
