this is really bothering me. it seems like there is enough information. geometry got me a bunch of info, but im still missing the 4 crucial angles. algebra seems to just go in circles, and i cant think of a way to apply trig to it... maybe i should have paid more attention in intermediate algebra. : P

this brings up an interesting thought (which is gonna be the last one i contribute). there have been several references to scientific studies throughout this thread, and you bring up the fact that probably no one in this thread has changed their stance. doesnt this show that it isnt really a scientific, logical opinion, but really an emotional one? it seems like this is very similar to religion. no matter how many logical arguments you make for the existance of god i will never believe you. i just dont agree. no matter how many good arguments you make against the existance of god your probably not converting any christians. while i like to think my thoughts on this are based solely on psychological studies that show that children are harmed by such contact, from this thread it seems like its really more of an emotional reaction on both sides. thanks to everyone who participated in this thread, especially the pedophiles, that takes guts.

i think this was actually his exact point... your smart and you somehow think that makes you better than people. (you in the previous sentence is not meant to mean you specifically) i know im smart. mainly because people wont stop F***ING TELLING ME. every teacher i have ever had has told me how bright i am at some point through the year, even the ones i clashed with (if being intelligent wont make a child arrogant, this will definately drive it home). in recent years it has really just annoyed me. the biggest thing i have learned in the last 10 years or so is that it really isnt worth a damn thing. work ethic is FAR more valuable than brains. when people say "smart" like it actually means something i just roll my eyes now. id say i definately used to be extremely arrogant, i think i have managed to mostly get over that though. im smarter than a lot of my classmates that got into really good colleges this year, my grades wont allow me to do the same.

it doenst seem like they are full of themselves if they made the group specifically to mock others? i dont believe an entire "society" can be full of themselves. certain individuals may be. i dont think being a member of such a society automatically makes you arrogant.
