i think thats just a difference in the definition of "accepted." the impression i have gotten throughout this thread is that she thinks you want to be accepted as in have your desires be considered socially acceptable. that wont happen. i think the kind of acceptance your talking about in this quote is her recognizing that your a person and accepting you as another human, that kind of acceptance can be expected. they are two different things. i accept the fact that your a person with friends and family and emotions and all that stuff, but i will never consider a relationship with a prepubescent person "acceptable".

yeah... me too. im 5'2". i was in programming class for 2 years and now i TA for it. all the upper-classmen new me because i went to the highschool to take geometry when i was still in middleschool, i was in physics in sophmore year, so im pretty much recognized school wide as a geek to the max times 10, and to cap it all off, im horribly obnoxious. i had a habit of insulting the big jock type people about how stupid they were when they called me a geek. i had to correct my biology teacher on a daily basis, kids started calling me a smartass becuase of my attitude. i would tell them its better than being a dumbass. and yet not a one of them ever stuffed me into a trash can or toilet. the worst abuse i ever got was from the wrestling team, and thats because i was ON the wrestling team and we all just abused each other... strange. im almost tempted to think that when you actually show them you dont give a damn what they think or what they threaten you with, and your still gonna call them a dumbass, they lose their confidence in picking on you. but then this one dude who was a class above me, dumber than a rock, and about 2 or 3 hundred pounds heavier did wallop me with his whale like arm one time... hes the only one though.

but then we are suggesting that all posts in the general discussion area are pointless and therefore add to the postwhore index. in order to calculate postwhoryness with our current system we need to count the number of valid points made. not easy to do with a program.

three in her first post alone. i havent checked every post, but in this thread i think she has 3 occurances of "like" also. but that would only give us a postwhore index of 1, which is far different from our other number. although, with just measuring lieks/likes postwhoryness would be larger with a larger number not a smaller one. its a different system unless you tweek the equation.

ctrl c, select word document, ctrl v. tools> word count. i still think it should factor in somehow. maybe as a fraction subracted from the number of valid points, before its divided by the number of posts? so like: (valid points-(lieks/likes))/total posts the problem i see with that is in situations like hers we would get a negative infinity postwhore index, since i cant find a "like" anywhere. nm. i found a couple. but it could still present a problem in certain cases.

i think were leaving out some important factors. i think we need to include a variable for certain tendancies that are common in postwhores. for example, the use of "liek" in place of "like". i think our equation needs to include some form of #of lieks/# of likes to get a more refined postwhore index. and isnt pink text an automatic /10 to the whole equation?

just so were clear on this, this where a post whore index of 1 is not a post whore, meaning she needs to increase her post whore index to 500% to stop being a postwhore? and ... whats a normal magnitude?

no, kiljaeden is one of the servers im on. the other two are stonemaul and doomhammer. i have about 10 characters spread out over those three. no, battle grounds arent out yet. they have implemented the honor system though.

true. but as you practice faking confidence it gradually becomes true. i used to have a very hard time with the whole dog thing i just discribed, but after doing the body language in a forced way for so long it becomes true. youd be amazed how quick a mean dog on the side walk will get out of your way if instead of slowing down you bark back at it. once again, true. this is why you need to do it always, so it becomes natural and you dont have to think about it.

obnoxious, while i have a good deal of respect for APs attitude and style, i wouldnt recommend punching each person at school who shuns you. if someones in your face, as in her example, by all means stand up for yourself. but violence isnt really the way to go because of funny looks.
