i just do it one place at a time 5*1.00 = $5.00 5 * .10= $.50 thats $5.50 5*.07= .35 thats 5.85 thats the order i always do it in too, not sure why. seems like it would be easier if i started with the smaller stuff.

which means your above average...
-
if it contains aquired knowledge i wouldnt consider it an IQ test. none of the ones i have taken have had anything that would require you to possess anything other than reasoning skills. blanket statement about psych experts not knowing what they are doing, zero facts, lots worth reading there... followed by the most idiotic thing that has ever been written... 100 is the average... it should be expected that most people would be somewhere around that. those who dont get over 111 are NORMAL. they are not braindamaged. suggesting that they are shows arrogance, ignorance, and general lack of empathy with the rest of humanity.
-
yeah, weird how that works... what with 100 being the AVERAGE. grr. "I thought this site has debating in its heading. Are you saying you are reluctant to live up to the title. How can I properly respond if I don't even know what you are complaining about? " fine... your reply is being written. ill try to keep it civil.

you have some very interesting opinions. ones that make me wish forums had an /ignore feature. (or that ignore was a viable option... kind of wierd trying to read a thread with half the comments missing and people seemingly replying to themselves...) i would reply to some of the things in that post but i dont believe im capable of doing so without throwing out at least one insult per sentence, so im just going to keep my mouth shut.

Would you choose specific traits for your children?
Callipygous replied to blike's topic in The Lounge
the general idea would be that they arent fighting nature. they are helping to move it along faster. whos going to choose genes for their children that come along with disease or weakness? -
its always the same, you can find diagrams online. you only actually use 4 of the wires, orange and green i believe. ill see if i can find the chart. http://www.aptcommunications.com/ncode.htm orange and green are send and recieve. the others are unused. for the crossover cable you would attach orange/white to green/white and orange to green.
-
easiest is probably a hub. im guessing your main one is on the internet, if you want it to stay that way you need to either get some kind of hub/router/switch, or get a second network card, or be prepared to switch cables everytime you want to share files. if im wrong and its not on the net then no worries, crossover is all you need.

Azure, im with you all the way on most of those traits. thats the way my family is (the intelligent but cynical way, not the serial killers). i think youll probably find that such things are more related to how you raise them, perhaps with the exception of intelligence . if you display those traits yourself and encourage them in your children it is likely they will develope them. i voted yes. i personally would not choose to alter any appearance related traits. i voted yes more on the idea of making sure they are not genetically predisposed to certain illnesses, or, for that matter, have genetic mutations. (even the intelligence, i think can be altered by upbringing. if your always educating your children from an early age i think they will develope an easier understanding of such things and have a greater aptitude later in life, as well as greater interest) -
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=hacker&r=f i believe he is going by the third definition, as opposed to the first.

anyone at the calculus level would realize that the instant you're moving, you are covering an infinite number of distances every second. infinity/infinity is perfectly capable of being a real number. so things can in fact move (obviously). whenever someone tells you movement is impossible i recommend the stapler method.

isnt there already a thread on this?

Is man smarter now compared to 2000 years ago

the op defined what we are talking about in the first post thats alright... ideas dont have to be substantiated to be worth hearing. -

i think we are generally more intelligent (potential-wise) than we were 2000 years ago. our modern society is more focused on things that revolve around and require intelligence. back in the day a large portion of the population would be doing manual labor type jobs. farming, fighting, building, etc. whereas now most people have higher level jobs. even those doing manual labor probably still use more intelligence just because of improvements to the industries. as a result i believe we have probably evolved to have more intellectual potential to fit our environment. not much, because species dont evolve much over as short a span as 2000 years, but i think we are a little smarter. my 2 cents. -
i dont know much about this, but would it be possible to medicate the indivdual to remove the sex drive as opposed to removing organs?

just because life starts with the first unaided breathe doesnt mean it ends when that ability goes away.

the biggest stereotype americans get is probably that we are all arrogant, ignorant, jackasses who dont care about the rest of the world. everyone is stereotyped, even the majority. in the usa, the majority is white, and the biggest stereotype agains us is that we are racist.

i have taken many online tests. i have scored as low as 139 and as high as 172. the most common score was 160. i would say it is a decent representation of intelligence, the part i would bring in to question is just how important that intelligence is. the kid who scores 160 on the iq tests is currently at risk of not graduating from high school... there are many other far more important factors.

ITT- in this thread. dont see this one as much as some of the others.

do online IQ tests count?
