Do you think that's possible? I mean, I could immagine the mamooth embryo being kind of bigger than the elephant embryo, the same for the further developed organism inside the placenta of the female elephant. As a result, would't the female elephant die? Also, I don't think, the embryo of the mamooth would be able to connect with the elephant since it's a diffrent species. It's like a human trying to get a monkey, would't work genetically, the whole thing is impossible!

All right, we made a new species of bacteria,crops and so forth. But these organisms in fact do not have a very complicated genom. Take the genom of a monkey or a rat, it'll take a while until we are done with the whole analysis of the genetic material of monkeys. By the way: Why should men create new(absolute useless) species? I have serious concerns about this, ethically!

Sure, protons have mass, one proton has the mass of 1,6748*10^-24g=1,008665u. What is energy? There are whole bunch of different types of energy,e.g. kinetic energy, warmth, light, electricity... Most of it has to do with motion of electrons within a molecule or an atom, or just simple with the motion of Ions... Protons are just involved, because they attract the electrons in an atom. But Protons for themselfes are never energy, although they have a charge, 1,602*10^-19 C.

Hypnosis: It could work. As a matter of fact I tried it once. A friend of mine is studying psychology, got also trained in the field of hypnosis. One day there was a party at which I kind of lost the control over myself, due to the alc. You all made the experience, next morning I didn't remember anything, all was gone. A friend of mine told me a few things I couldn't really believe, thought he was kiddn me or something. But all guys I met who were at the party, were acting a little bit akward in my presence. I seriously don't see why a marriage allowed to only heterosexuals would draw the developement of a sociaty back. Evolution is not a matter of years, not even of decades. Okay, you're right if you say, selection is not taking place right now. Most countries have good health care, almost everybody can reproduce, we live in paradise . But on the other hand, think about what drives selection. Events of a dangerous outcome for a species have selectional worth. And now: How many such events took place in the recent 20 years, just in the U.S.? None. My conclusion: Right now there is no real selection,but there is still evolution and always will be. Just wait until the climate changes, a global war gets started, a Virus like Ebola breaks out and turns out to be an air-agent or a Meteor finally hits the earth. I guarantee you: You'll find yourself in a very selective environment.

As a matter of fact planets are closed systems. You've got to differ between closed and isolated systems. Since the mass our planet gains from outer space is irrelevant, solar energy, warmth, is the only thing we exchange with space.Ergo: Closed system!

Humans are the product of evolution, just as every living organism on this planet. An easy proof for this are the fossils found in Africa, Europe, China and North America. I doubt that those are the products of failed experiments of aliens. Anyways, in the phylogenesis of man there are still some missing links, but they do not contradict the theory of evolution.

been to the U.S. for one year, as an exchange student(98/99) and must say Americans are really nice and cool people(I'm serious!!). Back in Germany I must confess I was even more american than the avarage American. And then came Bush and his election. I really hate to use such terms but in this case I have to: IT PISSED ME OF!! Well, you might wonder why,since the whole thing is actually none of my business. But hey, I feeld batrayed, just like many Americans did. Remember what Bush did to the German-American relationship.Some people I know, who were as exchange students in the US at that time, had to live through hell(you know, mobbing and stuff...). Fahrenheit 9/11 shows what Family Bush is all about..., MONEY, that's all. Course Moore cut some things out and included some other here and there, but that doesn't really matter, since everything he presented are statistical and non statistical facts. To all Americans: Please vote for Kerry. Of course he is not perfect(is there a perfect president? Can anything be perfect? NO!), but believe me, the world is breathing for a bushfree government.

I'd like to come back to the original question guys: Why THC in plants? My theory: Plants develope different kinds of poisons, which are able to kill animals, who eat those plants. THC might have had a bad influence on animals like maybe certain Insects. This of course is just a theory of mine.

Every closed system, also a planet, is able to bear just a certain amount of energy, in this case it might be "people". Is the amount to high, the system acknowledges changes, it has to adapt itsself to new conditions. The question is: Are man able to adapt themselfes to the adaption of the planet?If not, they will be no more!

My name consists of two parts: Chemistry and Maniac. Chemistry is what I'm studying and working on, it's the thing I'm mostly interested in, and Maniac, well, I'm just crazy about it all right? I'm serious, once I spent a whole week in the lab of my university without going home for a shower, a bed or anything else,just because I wanted to find out the structure of 4 different samples, an assignment which was due for a month.

I just decided to write a little bit more about myself. Let's see.. Orginally I'm from Poland, now living in Germany, so I'm not a native-english-speaking person so don't blame me for any spelling or gramatical mistakes please . I'm a student at the university of hamburg, stuying chemistry. My special interest is analysing chemical structures and their properties.I also like Toxicology. Next year I'll propably move to Heidelberg, not that I'd expect you guys to know where that town of about 200.000 inhabitants is. I also like running, sociology and literature. Science fiction is something I'd rather lough about, sorry to every SiFi-fan .In fact sometimes I tend to have serious doubts about the moon landing of man, well, as you see conspiracy-theories are something I also like to think about, but only from the analytical perspective.
