Electromotive force (emf) is voltage that drives a current around a circuit. For example the voltage at the terminals of a battery. Potential difference (pd) is voltage across a component that results from current flowing through the resistance of that component. In a simple series circuit the sum of the pd's will equal the sum of the emf's. Since the pd's are developed with the opposite sign to the emf's if you work your way around the circuit the end result of adding pd's to emf's will equate to zero.

This one's for my friend Xittenn

It seems the point may be more debatable than I thought:- "There are three equal and unverifiable explanations: 1)That the outcome is random, no order being possible ever to find. 2)The outcome is Divinely ordered and only the Divine knows the secret of the next dice roll. 3)Your personal energy and will go into your throw and that interacts with everything else around to express the total situation. If your will is focused sharply you will get the roll your will demands". This cut from the link:-http://www.stars-n-d...com/random.html I personally favour the first on the list.

Most computers cannot generate random numbers! Throwing a die (dice) produces numbers at random. record the results of throwing a die and present it as a list of random numbers and the result may well fail tests of randomness!

The first thing I notice is that he lifts himself into the air without using anything but his arms. The second thing I notice is the steepness with which he climbs. If he actually did fly through the air for a short time I wonder if he was winched up in the same manner as gliders are launched. I have looked hard but cannot see a cable - but that could be edited out. Some time ago a man powered aircraft called Gossamer Albatross successfully flew but took much leg power to get off the ground and climb very gradually.

"Acne is a skin condition that causes pimples or "zits." This includes whiteheads, blackheads, and red, inflammed patches of skin (such as cysts)". From the following link http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0001876/

Since there is a little poetry coming out, here is a little autobiographical attempt from me:- Prepared to kill? Standing still, I feel my heartbeat Conscious of the power I'm holding; Sub-machine gun held at ready, Loaded now and set for action. Then I see a man before me Crouched in menace weapon holding, But he's still, he hasn't seen me. Slowly raise and sight my weapon, Ease the the safety catch full forward, Gently, gently, gently squeezing Let the weapon choose the instant That it starts to fire its death stream. A short burst of three should do it, Cut him down at that short distance. But he stands, ignores my bullets, Doesn't drop or scream for mother. And I'm pleased he's made of plywood, Paper picture pasted to it. In my heart the wish that never Will I have to kill a human.

I'm doubting this advice for the following reason. When I was a teenager I suffered with acne. My doctor advised me to stop using palmolive soap because it was oily and prescribed eskamel which had a drying effect.

It is likely that most of the interference comes from the engine compartment. You could try placing the radio on the rear parcel shelf. This might give the aerial a better signal also.

What to do if a giant meteor is coming at you
Joatmon replied to questionposter's topic in Speculations
I can't remember details of the official looking notice in a Sergeants Mess concerning nuclear attack. It was a fairly long list of serious looking things to do. The final instruction was "Roll into a ball with your head between your legs and kiss your ass goodbye". Perhaps it might be relevant if a giant asteroid was about to hit you! -
Hasn't it always been the case - A man chases a girl until she catches him?!

I thought you were a student LaLa, hence this "advice". If not, well ignore it. Erratic spirit, Innocent and unconstrained, Be not in awe of those who would exert control. Their walls exude authority and infinite knowledge, But their walls are a facade. Cardboard walls hiding fragile authority and limited knowledge. Sometimes in the time between slumber and full consciousness They remember when they were like you And shed a tear.

No criticism - I had to use Eskamel when I was a teenager!

Not really. A slip of the tongue is much less a sign of ignorance than the true ignorance I showed.

My turn - ha ha hahaha!

Many of the important decisions we take on our journey through life either go unrecognised as such or are thought so unimportant that they require little thought. This leads to a certain randomness and knowledge that there was a better life you may have lived.

A word I seem to remember well from the 1950's ( let's say when I was between the ages of 17 and 21) which doesn't seem to used much these days is "No!"

So was my mother who used to say it. The song "All that Jazz" from "Chicago" always makes me smile! I'll resist my new found skill of posting a video.
