"So dont post them That way you won't offend anyone!" Now we're starting to get to the zone where no parodies should be made of ANYTHING at all since they are offensive to SOME people. And I don't want to go there. If you think ALL parodies are bad, that's your opinion. And besides, Hitler-parodies were made even during WW2. That just proved that (for example) the United States weren't scared of such a dictator as Hitler. If we didn't make fun of Hitler and let's say, bin Laden, wouldn't that just prove on some level that we are awfully afraid of such people?

"isnt anti freeze like poisonous." Depends what you use as anti-freeze. You could use ethanol, that causes trouble only when you wake up the next day. (And possibly some time after the drinking, when you rob a candy store while drunk and go to jail)

"Nostradamus predicted a lot of things." If you look at the things Nostradamus actually predicted that weren't made up later on by idiots, he predicted rather few things. "we have lost a few members recently..though one can assume Sayo had a hand in the dispatching :)" Yeah, getting banned for being an @$$hole is quite far from suicide. :I

So you're trying to say that if we make a Hitler parody, that will definately make someone think "Hey, let's have another holocaust because they don't even care about what Hitler did anymore". Alrighty then. The only point of the picture is to point out that someone is a "grammar nazi", and since most know that Hitler had something to do with the "national socialists", it fits quite well. There's not a single person in the world that you could have a parodical picture of that would offend no one. And I'm definately not implying that what Hitler did was right. If this was a picture of Hitler kicking a Jewish person or something I'd understand your concern. And this isn't even a real photo of Hitler. It's a parody. Please, don't get offended by silly parodies. Edit: And the picture is making fun of nazis, or more accurately, the strictness of nazis.

How about nitric acid? -
I wonder if you could call krypton fluoride "kryptonite". )

Don't know about me, but one person on the forums look something like this (figure out yourselves who ) ): http://www.freewebs.com/gildedchem/grammarnazi.gif (Freewebs forbids direct linking, paste the URL to your address bar)

"BTW, WHY did you feel the need to spoil a perfectly good thread with utter nonsense and irrelevance? I am REALLY curious about that??? WHY?" Isn't that kind of behavior the meaning and spirit of Christmas?

Argh, you misspelled three holidays! Let us hope that Jesus, God and the African-American culture won't mind that. But merry holidays to you too!

Test for Chloride ions in Aqueous solution
Gilded replied to Redrang604's topic in Applied Chemistry
"unfortunately, it does the same thing when sulfates are present, which i already know are. :(" It does? Perhaps you could remove the sulfates somehow and then do the silver nitrate test? -
Test for Chloride ions in Aqueous solution

"it`s the standard reagent for Chlorine testing in any Lab :)" It is? How well can it detect chlorine from air? -
"Are we planning on attacking an alien civilization sometime? If we aren't, what's the point of space weapons?" Don't know about "we", but U.S. is probably wanting to attack everything it can with every possibly suitable weapon. )

http://www.gcsescience.com/f22.htm "the addition of Silver Nitrate" Hmm, interesting. I didn't know you could use AgNO3 for that sort of testing. -
Oh, how Espoo sucks! All the damn yuppies live there. I'm in Raisio. Hope my ore comes soon... I just want a nice taste of tasty UO2.
-
Dammit people. Use F-Secure instead. Or then don't, because it sucks. But if you buy it, it's good for Finland's economy. )

"I want my legs sawed off!" Who wouldn't? After all, it's the perfect way to skip school gym. Even though, with legs of pure gold you don't want to say "Want a piece of me?!" to people anymore. The site however, seems quite interesting. But as I know very little of legislature and illegal activities (no wait, those I know about) and didn't even know what "demagoguery" means before seeing that page, I think I'll pass.

"A database without problems, and a more realistic idea of member participation in scientific discussions for guests and new members." For some people that doesn't seem to be worth getting their post count lowered.

TWJian, wasn't it more like that when an anti-matter - matter pair is created, the black hole sucks the other particle in ejecting the other particle outwards? It wouldn't probably even work the way you said - the gamma photons created by an annihilation would probably get sucked back in immediately.

"i would say you have aqueous chlorine dioxide" I would say that you have a solution of probably somewhere near 50% ClO2(aq).

"One thimble full of plutonium is enough to give everyone on earth cancer!" If we're talking about Pu-239 that's inside the body, it would probably eventually lead to that, yes.

"looks like a blast" Indeed. And very literally.

"botulinum toxin a is bloody huge; its molecular mass is greater than 150,000 and they still dont know the entire polypeptide sequence." Wow, that's some large molecule. "Today in the Molecule Weight Watchers - Botulin A!". )

Hehe, good one. ) ---- A little boy has a conversation with his father: -Dad, what's the difference between theory and practice? -Well, go and ask your big sister if she'd have sex with the high school football team for one million dollars. The little boy asks his sister and the sister replies "Oh yes I would, and I've done it - for free". The kid comes back shocked. -OK, now go and ask your mother if she'd have sex with both of our neighbors for a million dollars. The little boy asks his mother and receives a reply "Oh yes I would, and I've done it - for free". The kid is even more shocked. -Dad, what did this prove? -Well son, it proved the difference between theory and practice. -So what is it? -Theoretically, we have two million dollars. Practically, we only have two dirty hoes. ---- The Grand List of Temperatures (in Celsius, sorry Fahrenheit-people ) ): +7: The Brittish start to think it's getting rather cold. The Finnish plant flowers and wear shorts and T-shirts. +3: The Brittish have turned on the heating a long time ago. The Finnish go for a swim. 0: Water freezes. The Brittish are shivering. Finnish people are rather pissed because they have to cut the ice before going for a swim. -10: The Brittish are starting to panic. The Finnish are starting to think about switching to warmer clothing than shorts and T-shirts. -30: The Brittish are preparing for the Apocalypse. The Finnish decide it's time for sauna, some vodka and rolling in the snow. -50: The Brittish are praying. The Finnish decide it's time to consider wearing a sweater. -70: The Finnish start wearing sweaters. The Brittish start to live a couple of miles underground. -100: The Finnish get more pissed, as all vehicles are totally frozen, making it hard to fetch vodka from the store. This is also the reason for the ending of tea transportation, bringing an end to the Brittish population. -114: Ethanol freezes, bringing an instant end to the Finnish population.

"So Botulinum is more toxic than Ricin, but not a 100 million times." Oh yeah, I knew it.

"chlorine dioxide can be a liquid... read above. merck index trumps all" Redrang's beaker (and probably something more dear to him) would have probably been long gone if the liquid he has was even relatively pure ClO2.
