  1. "which al powder?" Probably German, dark pyrograde Al... >:/ Lucky bastard.
  2. Alrighty then. So generally it's thought that if graviton exchange exists, a graviton is a 0 mass particle (thereby travelling at c)?
  3. "also H2O isnt the best conductor, mixing salt in with it greatly improves conductance and therefore you get a better output however saltwater produces different gasses to water, so im not sure how much salt you can put in until you start getting O and Cl(from saltwater) opposed to O and H (from water)." I guess if you just want the hydrogen, you could use even quite a bit of salt without a problem as the Cl goes to the anode, doesn't it?
  4. You mean best in a really crappy way, like my analogies, or best in a humorous way?
  5. "If i lived in another country I would consider exchanging some of my money for the dollar, then when its value increases change back." I thought about that too. I have on the other hand, bought several products from America recently (Two games, DVD's, my lanthanide collection...). I hope dollar doesn't suddenly and dramatically increase in value because of the Geiger-counter I'm going to buy soon from the US of A.
  6. Doesn't the graviton exchange theory presume that gravitons have negative mass? Or then I confuse it with the tachyon theory.
  7. "I hate how in school science classes you never get to do any practical experiments/procedures like this one. They all demonstrate simple things like 'Mg in HCl makes H2 bubbles that will pop when you hold a burning splint near them.'" I absolutely agree. My 7th-9th grade school didn't even have proper element samples (which is the reason I have tried to cram the RGB element collection into their budget ).
  8. "electrolyte: this varies with what you are doing electrolysis on" I'd imagine you shouldn't have anything that can react with the H+ or OH- when doing water electrolysis?
  9. You're right about that jsatan. Even Euro is laughing at the Dollar.
  10. "just a thought the professionals who set of fireworks at partys ect where do they get there fuse from" I'd imagine they usually prefer electric ignition.

Doesn't chloramine bind the iron to hemoglobine?

Well, chloramine isn't as potential hazards as for example pure chlorine gas or nitrogen trichloride.
  13. "So can I tell my children that Santa is real and called Guilded but they must be asleep when he comes because hes a radioactive addict from finland." You can tell them that Gilded is an evil man who puts nuclear waste in kids' christmas stockings if they're not nice THE WHOLE YEAR! Also, he throws fly agarics at kids and shouts "Iä! Iä! Shub-Niggurath!".
  14. "yeah it is a cool reaction. funny thing is it happens so fast you have to watch it a few times" I've seen the MOV-version, in that one you can check it frame by frame. This is also fun to do with Na + H2O or similar reactions: You can see a huge bubble of hydrogen coming out of the water and combusting in a freaking millisecond.

"this made be of interest to a few of you: http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/alabaster/A795611" Crikey! I'm not even going to keep ammonia and bleach in the same house if I get some.
  16. Talking of sparklers, I checked the United Nuclear FAQ and found some interesting info (I don't know if it's just been updated a few days ago). United Nuclear DOES ship to foreign countries, yet it's your own responsibility if your country confiscates the products, and no fuses, chemicals and other HAZARDOUS materials will in any case be shipped to foreign countries. But if you'd really, really want to, I'd guess you could buy some mortar shells, a geiger counter or something if you think it's worth it. "We will, by customer request, fill international orders for other science supplies & equipment (no chemicals or dangerous materials), but these orders must be shipped by Federal Express which is very expensive. Your package will ship entirely at your own risk, and if Customs in your country confiscates it, it's all your loss." (Taken from the FAQ of United Nuclear)
  17. "http://www.chm.bris.ac.uk/motm/ni3/ni3h.htm" Those people have taken the video from another site (it's definately the same vid) and transformed it into a gif. >:/ I even think it was copyrighted... Still, it's a pretty cool reaction.
  18. Btw YT, I never got how waterproof (for example Visco) fuses work. Do they contain a strong oxidizer so strong, that they don't need excess air or something like that?
  19. "I am 6 feet 1 inch lol my dad says he didnt know they piled shit that high lol" Your father doesn't happen to be R. Lee Ermy does he?
  20. "If you were to make this type of smoke bomb from the saltpetre sold at a garden supply store would any impurities affect the reaction much?" I'm not sure if you guys use the same code for fertilizer, but here it's nitrogen-phosphor-potassium (for example 34-0-0 for NH4NO3). I'm quite sure that they're used worldwide though. Of course, the bag will probably say "saltpeter" but I recall that many different assortment saltpeters are used in fertilizing. It probably just says "potassium saltpeter", if it's a bag of KNO3. Also, I'd imagine the code for pure KNO3 is 14-0-44.
  21. I think both Fe2O3 and Fe3O4 are just about equally suitable for this purpose.
  22. by my snoring = rather catatonizing mesmerising
  23. "British Dont drink larger. I have told you this before." Yet I still won't believe it until I see it with my own eyes.
  24. Whoah. I tried to manage with approximately 6 hour night sleep. Now I have had minor diarrhea for some time, fever, a sore throat, headache, concentration problems and trouble being able to walk straight. I think I'm not masochistic enough to continue this much longer.
  25. I wonder if the carbon stays in the steel, giving you an iron oxide mix with unwanted carbon in it. Or is it mostly released as carbon dioxide or similar when oxidizing steel wool?
