"It's due for Monday (Nov.19)" You don't happen to mean Monday Nov 22nd? Since 19th was Friday, the magnificent day when I finished Half-Life 2. :>

"Its only grows 20cm long." Well then, we have to do ourselves some scorpion stretching. It's good though that Sayonara can now play God somewhere else than SFN. j/k Perhaps you should attach titanium extra claws to them and have scorpion pit fights? Edit: "How much does it take to entertain a creature with a brain the size of your fingernail?" Well, having a war with Iraq usually entertains one creature of that sort quite a bit, it seems.

^ Yeah I realize that. For example, anyone can possess radioactive ore or crystal samples, if they are for educational purposes. But still this bothers me, as I think I have seen a list about high explosives and such that shouldn't be in the possession of anyone but licensed scientists or the military, just can't remember where it was.

Played myself Halo 2 through in co-op with my friend a couple of days ago, and finished HL 2 about 30 minutes ago. Damn, as if the plot wasn't already strange enough after the first one.

"Why do artificial environments need a certain range of pH like pools and aquariums?" Humans also suffer from pH abnormalities, especially if it's in blood. Even a 0.2 change in blood pH change can be quite hazardous. Same goes with other mammals and fish. I guess when the fish filter the water, a sour or alkaline solution can irritate their tissues. "What chemical processes take place ? What type of reactions?" Well you know the usual, H+ and/or OH- react with the creatures tissues and corrodes them... tissue that gets corroded away isn't generally a good thing. "Are there any problems with them? If so are there any solutions? Any safety concerns?" You should see which pH is good for the specific creature(s) and stabilize it, either by adding slightly acidic or alkaline solutions until the pH is optimal. I don't know much about aquarium keeping though, never really had one.

"I basically think this applies to any explosives which are listed as "High Explosives" or anything which requires a license to possess." Yeah, I was wondering where to see which or what type of compounds are regulated and need a license, and which are regulated only if accumulated in large quantities. I guess I could look these up in the law of Finland, but I really can't be arsed since it's damn hard to find anything from there.

Now that YT even had to post a thread about the illegal HE synths, I was wondering: What sort of compound synthesizing is absolutely illegal? Would someone mind guiding me to a page or source that concerns this (for the U.S. for example, as their restrictions seem to be quite the same as they are in European countries, and just about any country)? I especially would like to know more about the legality of synthesizing corrosive, potentially poisonous or sensitive materials. Of course, I have basic understanding of this, in the lines of "you're not allowed to make amphetamine".

Personally, I don't mind advice. Unless it concerns something I consider myself being good at. Luckily, there aren't many things I'm good at so guess I mostly like advice. :|

Yeah, I saw that in the news as well. Mighty speed it got there... I wonder how it would feel like to be aboard a plane going 7000mp/h, so hopefully they build manned version of the X-43A soon.

Oh, I didn't remember that you're in the US. I must admit, that is quite a price... That amount of mercury doesn't even need HazMat... or does it?

"When I make big batches, I like to put some sugar in there so it will attract flies and bees as it's drying. It's really fun to see a big nasty hornet get blown to pieces when it gets near the pile." Somebody, call the activists!
