I am an aspiring author of science fiction and fantasy and love nothing more than to sit down with a good, well written and mostly scientifically accurate book. I do love space opera as well and I am, perhaps paradoxically, a huge fan of all sorts of fantasy. My only requirements for enjoyment are that it is well written, the characters are not caricatures and the plot is mostly hole-less. That said, my guilty pleasure is Battle-Field Earth. I also love to read about this world we live in, the science behind why it is, where it's going and what the future may hold. My favorite subject is astronomy and astrophysics - the stars have always fascinated me and I hope one day mankind will visit a few.

I enjoy speculating and asking 'What if...' both to myself and to others both in earnest and in jest and love the discussion that comes out of it so long as such discussion is civil and in good humor. I will rapidly get disinterested if the discussion turns into a re-enactment of the 1871 Great Fire of Chicago. I consider myself to be an intelligent person and love to discuss things in an intelligent manner, even if the discussion (mostly mathematics) goes over my head. My interests in science are wider ranging than just space, however. Everything from anatomy to zoology can capture my fancy if the mood is right and I happen to have some of the relevant subject material near at hand (one of the benefits and detractions of being possessed of a wandering mind and a great memory for subject matter)

I am open to any discussion and although my breadth of knowledge is wide it is also, unfortunately, rather shallow although I can reason out most things given a short period of time to think and postulate.
