  1. No. I take it that's a science fiction forum.
  2. I think you were picturing something suspended in a magnetic field. That only works when the magnets are anchored to the earth.
  3. so that's about 0.000762 c not really fast enough for interstellar travel. It would take about 4, 462 years to reach the closest star, and at that speed, relativistic time dilation would be negligible. It would however, be fast enough so that any sizable piece of space junk, say a gram's worth or so, should pretty well vaporize any material plating on the ship. this is incorrect. Magnets have no effect on weight or mass, or any other property of the ship. Stopping where? There's nothing between us and the nearest star, and it will take over 4000 years to get there. That's a long time between fill ups.
  4. Everyone here knows that's the fact. For the purposes of the op, there's a simplified assumption, that applies not to the real world, but only for purposes of the discussion.
  5. Whatever was done to eliminate the commercial spam is not working.
  6. This is complete nonsense.
  7. No gravity is not motion of objects. I'm not sure where you've gotten such a ridiculous idea. This is so fundamentally wrong, that the only thing I can think to do is to refer you to wiki for some basic information. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gravitation
  8. Do you think we can see gravity?
  9. No he wouldn't. Relativistic 'mass' does contribute to gravitational force. Only rest mass generates gravity.
  10. Gold is a non-reactive metal, so oxygen would not bind to it. It would therefore be useless in blood.
  11. Or any other material containment. Just using the figures supplied.
  12. This: http://www.engr.colostate.edu/ionstand/graduates/papers/Longhurst%20Dissertation.pdf is a dissertation prepared for NASA in 1978 on Mercury Ion thrusters. In Appendix B, on page 108, it gives the averaged temperature of mercury plasma as 7.5 ev. 1 ev is equal to 11,604 K, So the average temperature of mercury plasma is 83,548.8 K Converting to Fahrenheit, it's an average of 150,000 F.
  13. Vixra is like open mic night at a comedy club for cranks.
  14. The only physics you've taken is Ex-lax. You also seem to have trouble counting. That's what your fingers are for.
  15. I mean actual physics, which has accurately provided predictions on the behavior of the universe. Since all you've provided is word salad with no math, and I don't have the patience of Job, you are dismissed.
  16. You're spamming your website. I imagine, with your advertisers, the more hits you get, the more you make. If you want to promote a conversation, post your points here.
  17. Well, I suppose speculations is as good a place as any. There's nothing in your post which seems to relate to actual physics. It's a wall of words spelling out incorrect concepts. I suppose, if I had the patience (as swansont does) I could go through your post line by line and paragraph by paragraph, pointing out the misconceptions and outright errors, but I don't. Suffice it to say, none of it is correct.
  18. Stop spamming us with your web site.
  19. I think you should stop promoting your web site.
  20. I think you're just promoting your website.
  21. Nonsense. Do you ever try to look anything up before posting on it? http://hyperphysics.phy-astr.gsu.edu/hbase/relativ/muon.html
  22. I'm a little confused. I didn't realize we were in the religion thread.
  23. I can step out into my back yard and easily find rocks which appear identical to your pictures.
  24. I'm not a geologist, but all I'm seeing in that photo is a very blurry picture of what appears to be a simple igneous rock. Quite common, it is one of the three main types of rock on earth. There's nothing to suggest it came from the moon.
