  1. From Space.com http://www.space.com/19845-dark-matter-found-nasa-experiment.html My predictions is that whatever the results, the arguments will continue.
  2. Relativistic mass is pretty much an obsolete concept, leading to confusion as we can see from the above. The mass does not increase, the relative kinetic energy does, and has no effect on weight.
  3. Well, since you probably want to submit to a medical journal, go here to submit to the New England Journal of Medicine: http://www.nejm.org/page/author-center/manuscript-submission or here to submit to the Lancet: http://www.thelancet.com/lancet-information-for-authors/how-to-submit See, submitting isn't hard. Getting accepted is another matter, but that will depend on what you submit.
  4. Look in any direction, and you can see 13.7 billion lys. In every direction. Now, unless the earth is at the center of the universe, the only way to explain our observations is that there is no center, and from ANY point in space, the universe looks basically the same.
  5. Shouldn't this be in the trash?
  6. The BB did not originate at a central point. There is no central point of the universe. The BB happened (and is still happening) at every point in space.
  7. RWJ has got to be a vacuum cleaner salesman.
  8. We're coming to expect nothing from you, and that's what we're getting.
  9. Mainly short, 4 letter descriptions.
  10. My suggestion is that we leave it just like it is.
  11. Kristalris is a lawyer, and seems to feel that if he throws enough words he's proven something.
  12. The changing metric does not need momentum to drive the expansion. And given that the rate of change is increasing, there's another factor at work.
  13. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metric_expansion_of_space
  14. Expansion is caused by more space appearing between objects, not by the objects moving through space away from each other.
  15. I'm afraid you don't know what the shell theorem is. It means you can disregard anything INSIDE the sphere, and only consider the mass of what is outside.
  16. The shell theorem applies to a hollow, symmetrical sphere. The universe is not a hollow, symmetrical sphere. All objects within your arbitrary sphere are subject to gravitational force. The shell theorem does not apply. Gravity doesn't match expansion, it totally overwhelms it, out to a distance of about 200 million lys. You're having difficulty grasping the concept, which, quite frankly, seems to be quite simple. Gravity diminishes with distance, and expansion doesn't. At some point, gravity and expansion balance each other. Further than that, gravity diminishes to less than expansion, and expansion takes over. It's not that complicated an idea.
  17. The universe is not a sphere and has no center.
  18. Simply incorrect. The gravitational force is INVERSELY proportional to the square of the distance.
  19. It sounds like Mike's biggest problem with Speculations is where on the menu it appears.
  20. You've got a random bunch of words strung together. How in depth does the answer need be?
  21. No.
  22. IOW there is no frame in which a photon has zero mass. No, p is not mass, p is momentum. There is no frame in which a photon has zero momentum. There is no frame in which a photon has a non-zero mass.
  23. I specifically said I was examining the distance between the earth and the moon, and DISREGARDING GRAVITY. Taking gravity into account, there was no expansion due to reasons already given.
  24. It slows down due to interactions with the electrons in the medium. The photons themselves always move at c, but they are absorbed and reemitted by the electrons in the material.
