I set the HORIZONS interface to give the "one-way (down-leg) light-time" of the sun. It reaches its minimum at 7:00am UTC/GMT, but most sources assign perihelion to 12:00 or 11:00am UTC/GMT. What's the discrepancy from?

I maintain David345's point, StringJunky. Just imagine that pot never becomes legal because the pot-heads cannot vote from jail! Unless their crime interfered with someone else's voting right (e.g. by killing them), they should keep their vote.

The voter's obligation needn't be passing a test, but testing needn't introduce inequality. We could instead directly vote on whatever issues we can demonstrate understanding of, with there being a cap on number of votes per person.

I agree that the opportunity to vote is a right, but should voting be guaranteed? Can't we place obligations on the voter? Understanding-based voting may cause unrest, but what's power without understanding?

I can't vote outside my state. I can't sit down in congress and vote on environmental policies. Informed voting sounds ideal, but you'll need an unbiased measure of understanding. The current mandate seems to be equal voting, with politicians being the exception.

I could make a case for life being a proces, namely, the multifaceted process by which organisms reproduce and evolve. The process is cyclical, so it makes no sense to give this circle a beginning, except maybe 3.5 billion years ago when the pencil lead first touched the paper and began its succession of rounds.

I've wanted a Ubuntu / Libreoffice solution for some time. After shuffling through the /usr/lib/libreoffice/ files without finding my custom dictionary, I've realized that Robotux could easily be programmed to add an entire list of words. Robotux is 3 dollars.
