The rising temperatures were inevitable, we just sped them up, in fact, they've been rising since the end of the last ice age. I'd be more concerned with ozone depletion and the actual biological toxic affects of pollutants.

Maybe something's wrong with me, but I couldn't imagine anything else it would've been, considering the change in colors and texture and the obvious bulk.

definately cetacean penis. And (I'm not good at this) that which appears to be a *pectoral fin* looks like that of a humpback. ---edit--- Right Whale maybe?
-
Would you mind if I laughed uncontrollably? Or at least cackled sadistically?

Hey, if I can name this terrible, life-shattering disease, you can speculate whatever you want
-
I shall call it "Irrational Repulsive Complex" or "IRC" for short
-
God, the telltale kerscrunch sound of walking in thick snow for me. It probably doesn't have a name but it seems to be the same as the basic "Nails on a Chalkboard" repulsion.

Which totally sucks because I think they're some of the coolest invertebrates out there and have always wanted some.

It has EVERYTHING to do with it!!! This isn't just one robotic person, this is every person. Not one person being happy vs mindless, but billions of people. The whole is not just a great web of the many, it is the sytem in which the many live their own, distinct lives, the very distinct lives that give point to life, that actually serve as the breeding grounds for all the things that give humanity its few redeeming qualities, technology included. Because technology isn't just a drive to succeed, it is fueled by passion, by desires, needs and wants, the wonder of discovery, the joy of finding the truth, the satisfaction of accomplishment. In almost every era you see, you will find that the greatest technologies are those of war, fed by war, which is in turn feuled by the hearts of individual people. And of all the greatest technologies of the ancient past, many were created by men alone who put their hearts into creating, not for any reason or goal, but just to create for the Hell of it, from Heron to Archimedes to Da Vinci. Were they sought to create specific inventions? Were they employed for their skills? Of course, but in each, and in others, you will see that their drive was not based on this, but rather on soemthing from within, soemthing with heart. Soulless efficiency won't lead to advancement, but decay. Without something to work for, to attain on the personal level, there is no reward for work, so why try at all? ... Are you frickin' kidding me!?!?! If people don't want it on such a scale, it's obviously not good for those people!!! Humanity doens't matter, the people do. We aren't a computer program, we're living, thinking, feeling beings, and that is the only kind of life worth living at all.

And certain materials will burn with different colored flames, usch as copper compounds burning blue-green, thallium green, and potassium violet. Different atoms will release different wavelengths of light when they're electrons are excited and induced to jump to higher energy levels and fall back, in this case as a result of heat.

This link goes to a much better article, with more science and less wild speculation based on little. Here it says They may just be mineral, but still cool
-
He messed up the link with that smily, erase that, and it's fine. Are you looking for confirmation of what it's saying Keano?

Wasn't it Titanis of the Phorusrhacoids that evovled possible hunting claws on the forewings?
-
Yeah, basically they gave us a few drawings of internal anatomy, followed by gruesome std images, and told us "never, ever have sex or you will catch these horrible things, suffer a long time, and die alone."
-
These things are awesome, they've been of interest to me for quite some time now. That Mihirung the article mentions was taken from ancient aborginee legends of enormous emus that scientists think their ancestors probably encountered.
-
I'd try to start off with a leopard gecko. They're excellent beginner-lizards, if you can really call any animal a "beginner pet".
-
I like bermuda grass, good, lush green and as tender as a baby bunny.

This diagram from wikipedia illustrates the taxonomic timeline. To clarify, Pongo would be orangutans, and Pan is chimpanzees. I think you'll be able to get which are gorillas and humans
-
That's a very common misconception, but it's probably not true. The current theory, supported by genetic and fossil evidence, suggests that we split off from a common ancestor with chimps, long after gorillas and orangutans had already split off. "We" were apes at one point, and one could argue that we still are.

too glaring, it hurts my eyes. I always felt a faint blue, gray or green worked best, nice, soft tones that don't detract from the important stuff.

House is incredible, the first decent doctor show ever. Everyday I strive to be little bit more like House, and I think it would be good for humanity if evryone did so as well.

Smallville huh?.... You have my condolences
