  1. Dear Gods, what are You, a martha stewart/mary poppins hybrid on acid ??? I'm disgusted with you. Go sit in the corner and think about what you've said. I'm picturing a nice silk or satin piece without lace, backless, with a tastefully low neckline. A semi-modest train, not reaching to the floor, with simple sandals rather than heels. Unless of course, she'd prefer a beach-side event.
  2. No. All rights of there's would be equal to those of the heterosexuals, with the possible exception of adoption rights. I would have to see the result of a lot of long-term studies before I could decide that. I would, but I wouldn't allow them to send missionaries out to convert others. They could advertise, but wannabe followers would have to go to them. Also, it would be entirely separate from my govenrment, meaning no tax-rebates or such, with the exception that high schools would be required to offer classes in World Theology, Historical and Contemperary, from a completely scholarly point of view. I say an equilibrium between order and chaos is necessary. I would eliminate pointless bureaucracy, and place more direct power in the hands of local "Judicary Counsels" composed of several individuals with varying backgrounds, such as class, race, theology, and education. I would replace lawyers and juries with investigatory teams, with a number of specialists trained in a number of fields, trained to eek out the facts scientifically. The judges would then rule based on the suggestion of this "Jury." I would maintain order through a nation-wide military force that would operate under similar guide-lines as a police, simply eliminating more bureacratic processes. Others -equal rights for sentient and protected species -Hunting would be restricted to that necessary to game management, or as a source of food. -Strict environmental protocall, and ever increasing use of non-fossil fuels -intensive environmental restoration projects -strict standards of living in the meat industry -nothing is given to the poor. They can earn food, housing and minimal pay working in government industries. -ease drug laws, but would make the penalties for abuse severe (DUI, public disturbance, abuse, etc) -existing taxation wouldn't apply to fundemental needs (housing, water, food, clothing, education, medicine, etc) -marriage strictly ritualistic. You both mutually claim to be married? Fine with me. -Free medical for all necessary procedures -intensive Space Program, and other sciences -scientific research funded by government - Greatly reduced taxation supplemented by "capitalist" Government industries. -leadership and all govenrment offices would recieve no special treatment (beyond protection against threats) and standard-level pay. -all citizens must have their DNA, finger and palmprints, retinal IDs, and dental/medical records updated annually. Kinetically-charged tracer beacons would be placed in the spines of convicted criminals who have served their time. (we have stuff like that, right?) -my most controversial plan would entail a slow reduction of population by sterilizing violent criminals, multiple-time-drug-offenders, and those with severe genetic problems. A 2 to 3 child-limit might be implemented. --- There's more, but I'm operating on a sugar-low, and really don't care, plus it's too long already Essentially, the only support you have for that is the fact that we are humans, and they aren't. Which is fine, but it's only your opinion. One could easily argue in favor of there being a fair number of sentient non-human species, and could argue in favor of the value of an individual of another intelligent species, or from a species threatened with extinction, intelligent or not. Just because someone else's morals are different from yours doesn't mean they're wrong or unrealistic.
  3. Phi, you get a caterer, I'll book her a dress-designer Oh, you're gonna need to stick to tradition and get Sayo bombed outa his mind.
  4. Indeed, quite a bit of personal frustation and obscure anger seem to be popping out of the woodwork. Let us observe quietly in the company of popcorn.

    Under God

Although that's true, young children, in my school district at least, are often led to believe that they must. Up through middle school, teachers drove it into our heads that it was school policy that the pledge must be recited in full, and I'm sure most of them believed it; even detentions were handed out. Later in highschool, there were teachers who didn't care if anyone even stood for the pledge, but there were others who would force anyone who refused to achnowledge it to leave the classroom.
  6. Brain damage. Like dyslexia manifested in syntax-form.
  7. Oh no, I completely agree with you Pygous, my interpretation isn't pure. For a few points in particular, I was strained to figure out how Yoda would've have put it, but couldn't quite get it. But Yoda's rules are far from well-defined, and more complicated sentences tend to fight Yoda-talk. But in many cases, especially in Extended Universe novels, the syntax insn't quite so clear. In such cases also, he's often forced to speak for greater lengths, and encounters grammatical situations absent in the movies. And yeah, often enough, they do make him speak regular English to simplify things, but that just feels like a cop-out to me.
  8. Relax. In you're own words... Mokele is an excellent choice. He is intelligent, and as a poster he does his best to help those who want to learn something about a particular field, and I have yet to see him needlessly attack reasonable debaters. He is far more relaxed and sane than many *ahem* (see above) and he has earned the respect of many of us. What's better, it's a friendly respect. I can't imagine a better choice for mod.
  9. I thought the writing itself was decent but tiresome, and much of his plot was lacking in originiality, far too cliche. I don't actually mind him rewriting history for fiction (I read Dirk Pitt novels for God's Sake) but the storyline was reminiscent of many sub-avergage treasure hunt stories, and throughout, no shocking revelations were actually discovered, the main character simply told you about them. That in itself was an enormous mistake. And then in the ending, it didn't finish with a thrilling bang, it just sort of reached a very subtle peak, and finished off quietly.
  10. Your own grammatic deviation concoct, implore you I do. "To intuitively understand, wholly and profoundly" Grok is.
  11. Once, the dictionary did I refer to, the correct spelling of "sagaciousness" to ensure.
  12. Arrogant you have grown, my Padawan. Clear it is to those with brains that form shackles grammatical cowardice does. Read my biography had you, have grokked the difference between sagaciousness and stodginess might you. By such menial oversights, in true understanding you are diminished. Much like the Force, this perception of lexicon is. The Force to dominate, to enslave, is your way. Crush it you do, the light from it you consume. Tainted the Force will become, sickly and malformed. Do this a true Jedi does not. The Force embrace you should. Flow free must the Force, silly rules unbound by. In reciprocation, yourself the Force you should give. True power, such is.
  13. That's absurd! Now who on God's green Earth would believe such foolhardy heresy? Let us be filled with righteous fury and burn the heathen in the name of the Holy Father!
  14. Powerful might you be, but most certainly cram this blade down your throat I will. Wasted in celebration I will get, after defiling your grave I have finished
  15. I bow to you, Oh Scaly Sage.

    wow

You don't need to know the formula. When all the dangers were rattled off, common sense is what dictated it could be nothing other than water. It was only after that that i looked back and actually looked at the name.

    wow

My teacher pulled this bit in Marine Bio. I was one of two people in the class who knew what it all meant, in a class of thirty-six, and no one I explained it to would believe me. So yes, there are plenty of people out there who are stupid enough.
  18. Actually, mountains of empiracle evidence suggests that the Easter Bunny is responsible for that little trick.
  19. the dna would be partly digested before fossilization... ti would probably be a blend of different species blood, and the DNA is still liekly to break down overtime. It's a fickle molecule. Maybe if a mosquito fed on one species, immediately got trapped, and then was flashfrozen, but otherwise...
  20. I should've realized, I mean, there are idiots who think there are no gluons, just the Force of God Exerting His Will upon quarks
  21. First New Orleaners claim Katrina missed them thanks to prayer (which backlashed what, a few hours later?). Now Sheehan claims they were hit due to Bush's alleged "non-Christyness". Shouldn't the Bible include a section of "the rules of who gets prayer relief, and who gets smote" to clear these things up? I call for a rewrite.
  22. cytoplasm and RNA? I can all too well imagine an IDiot saying something along the lines of "the structure of the plasma membrane is far too complex to have come about due to ridiculously random chemical hijinks. Random random random. My little brain brain can't comprehend the natural order of such things, so it must be random." Ope, here's some strong support for my hypothesis that not even a simple cell-membrane is safe
  23. I largely agree' date=' and deciding whether or not we are [b']still[/b] apes can wait until more people are intellectually and emotionally ready to delve into and accept that possibility. And it's true that Humans are closer to chimps than chimps are to gorillas, due to the fact that we share a more recent genetic ancestor, and that our genes are closer, but certain major characteristics of erect, big-brained hominins might still separate and distinguish us from those hunched, small-brained hominins with actual-ape status, which I imagine many people would prefer, whether it's scietifically honest or not. All that matters at this point is that evolutionists understand what "we" were once great apes, actual, true great apes, and that we're still damned close to them. All that's bothering me is that many are under the false impression that our ancestors broke off earlier than that, and didn't really evovle fro apes. *I'm shutting up now. It's hard to keep on track on these kinda threads*
  24. While this is all true for me, I should get past my frustrations and actually state something real. I largely don't vote because I can never find any politician I agree with. This guy might be okay in this field, but I really don't want him because of what he thinks over here, and vice versa for someone else. If it ever came down to it, I might throw in a vote for that good ol' Arizonan McCain, but that time has yet to come, and I'm uncertain if voting for a republican, no matter how much of a rogue he might be, is really a safe move. **Forget that. I'm not sure I could vote for someone who supports the teaching of intelligent design in schools... and he wants to pricecap certain NASA operations... *** On the other hand... he does share my abortion views, and is a supporter of stem-cell research... and he has really good fiscal/gun control/criminal prosecution views... I need to find out just what kind of ID curriculum he supports.... damn you politics, damn you to Hell!! --See what I mean about my problems? I'm looking for perfection, which realistically I'm very unliekly to find.
  25. I don't vote because I'm a paranoid cynic, and I absolutely hate politicians. Their self-serving little games.... smarmy attitudes... bureaucratic psychosis.... self-satisfied little smirks of superiority.... lamo-attempts at heart-tugging solemnity.... makes me want to light everthing on fire....
