damn, I was hoping it would be as simple as a diamond which "flouresces under U.V. light" So far my stone meets all the suggested criteria to tell it from synsthetics, but if I decide it's worth it I'll have to find a professional to find out if it's a ruby or a lesser stone.

I know, I only just got it, so I decided to look for the lazy way out before I actually wasted half an hour of my oh-so-exciting life

That's basically their only option. I wonder if nuts like that inhabit the Grand Old Empire?
-
Not hostile, just curious.... what are they expected to do when they're called to a supposedly low-danger scene only to find drunken / stoned nutcase with an automatic machine gun waiting in his darkened house (who placed the call the the sole intention of luring the cops)? And.... Would I be right to assume that there is a special armed division that gets sent out to deal with calls in which they know the enemy is carrying or could be carrying a weapon?

I've "inherited" a ruby ring, and it's over seventy years old. Does anyone know how to determine if the stone is real or not? Or what stones may have been used to fake it during that era? I'd never dream of hocking it, but I'm curious.

Was the first man a baby or an adult?

He meant that the Bible was written during a time / times when people had scarcely any understanding of the workings and form of the natural world. And exists in many versions. That's just a blatant "non-truth" encased in a few layers of total B.S. Show us your oh-so conclusive anti-evidence. Be warned, if it's another fossilized sandal, my spirit is going to haunt you till the day you die, and I'll be wielding a whisk. -
My name is Kay. My username is what it is because Azure is shorter than Sapphire, and I really, really like phoenixes (Phoeni?) (never mind that I live in Phoenix)

Sister, if you're gonna try to reform us all of our cruel, spiteful ways, you'd better be prepared to dive straight into a battle as old as time itself, the war between the Forces of the Cynical and the Bitter My heart goes out to you.

Methinks you need to understand that evolution is much more simple than you seem to imagine. What we don't understand in the origin of life. Evolution itself is better understood than countless astronomical theories, with literally tons of evidence, and it's all at our fingertips, yet you don't see many people attacking blackholes or our place in the universe from a religious standpoint (not as much as in past centuries at least). Those sentences alone should be enough to drive a paleontologist to commit suicide. -
I gagged on my Root Beer after reading that last line. That's why Ilove knowing so many cops, they all have dozens of stories as funny as that. The gory ones are good too. I'm familiar with the idea. I'm just not excited because no matter wha they use, the cops who use each new non-lethal weapon always get attacked for using excessive force on the rare occasions when the weapons prove to be too powerful, or when they're used on people the media calls "defenseless." It doesn't matter that they were bubbling over with PCP, were carring metal pipes, and stood six two. Or in the case of anyone under eighteen it doesn't matter what the cops do, even if the kid has got a knife or even a gun. The police always end up being called monsters or murderers. No one cares that their lives are on the line too, as well as vicitms on the scene.

You're looking for me to rethink which hole I stick it in' date=' aren't you, you xenophobic oompa-loompa? "[i']When ninehundred years old you reach, look as good, you will not...mmm?...[/i]"

meh. I did go out and took the time to specially scan and trim that yoda pic for an avatar, cuz at the time there were no agressive yoda pics available online. I love star Wars, but Yoda especially because he has such a wise view of the universe, and he still kicks ass, yet at heart he's still a teacher and a prankster. I'm neither wrinkly nor green, though I am short. Rest assured, another comment like that, and I'll force feed you a whole pineapple.

Dry ice is frozen carbon dioxide. In a regular, water-ice cooler, the span of time in which the drinks will stay cold varies between brands and models. It normally says on the packaging. Remember, the drinks themselves will remain cold for quite a while after the ice itself melts.

The only thing you can really do is take him/her to the vet. Birds have a way of perfectly hiding many illnesses right up till death. There are innoculations you can get for the bird, just as a dog, though not many people outside of breeding do it, and one of the key things is to simply wash your hands before and after handling D.B. Remember, he's far more sensitive to what you might carry than you are to what he might carry, which is why washing your hands prior to handling is especially important.

You're blind if you think that men like that father can be rationalized with. They care for no one, and are willing to risk everything to escape. The man picked up a weapon and used his child as a shield. There is no rationalizing with someone like that, and you can't simply let him go. They did what they had to, and you can be certain that the live's of some of those cops were ruined that day. You think dissenters and thugs are the oly ones who suffer? http://www.odmp.org/officer.php?oid=17754 I knew this man for five years. We've had dinner with him, he's been to our barbecues. He had seven kids, and for years he's worked his ass off, working overtime, doing extra jobs on the side, skipping weekends and vacations just to support his family. Now he's dead because some car-stealing punk bastards decided two or three years of freedom (probably less) was worth this man's life. Try to pay attention before you throw your heart out to the dregs of society. Some of the finest human beings I know are police. Are there bad cops? Sure. Anyone anywhere can be a foul excuse human being. Teachers, politicians, firefighters, military leaders, religious leaders, even your friendly neighborhood crack dealer - anyone, no matter what they do for a living, can be a bad apple.

You first need to understand that cops are not frickin' abducting you when your being arrested, they're just cleansing the public roads of scuzzy bits of garbage that need to be tucked away from view. You break teh law, you suffer. And it's not like the five or so crimes you've spoken about are dumb little technicalities. They're all valid and worthwhile... 1 --- breaking curfew... no one wants little punk scuzzheads on the streets at night. As for those teens who aren't, they should be happy to be safe at home 2 --- drinking... you can't wait till you're of legal age to start killing brain cells? You're innate stupidity isn't good enough? 3 --- smoking... similar as above. Wait till your not your parents problem before you begin growing a lovely series of tumors 4 --- Resisting arrest... anyone who fights back against cops (who sacrifice so much in their lives to protect the public) is fighting for anarchy, and can't be trusted to move about without a babysitter. 5 --- destruction of property... if you didn't do anything wrong, why are you trying to get away? Even a criminal will get out without even a slap on the hand, if you're so innocent, you should get of scott free. By running, you admit that you're nothing but a lowly scumbag and the cop in question shouldn't have any probelm with stopping you with excessive force. Then drop this sh*t about cops being trash. They put their lives on the line every night for nothing but a check scarcely better than a teacher's. And what do they get for it? Nothing but crap from anyone who's narcicistic enough to think they've been wronged by the law, no matter what they did to deserve being jailed /beaten /taken home. Rakista, you're just one of those lowlifes who doesn't like anything that gets in the way of your fun, no matter how petty or harmful. Grow up.

The laws are voted on by adults, adults who are responsible for the one's affected by the law, in this case, children. Your very admittance to breaking these laws, as well as your fundamental criminal attitude towards the law itself are the very reasons kids shouldn't vote, as well as why we need the damn curfew laws in the first place. EDIT: in what way are you proving that you'll ever be fit to rule yourself if you can't even adhere to some of the most basic laws in existence? Maturity isn't something that's handed to you with age. You've gotta earn it. However old you may be now, your very attitude proves your still not there.
-
Enforcing a law against people who ARE ACTUALLY BREAKINGTHE GODDAMN LAW is not abusing a power. Second, any derogatory reaction to a police officer is simply providing them with a second valid reason to arrest you and amp up the charges. Any violent reaction you feel you deserve gives the cops a valid reason to beat your ass into the pavement. You take a punch at a cop, you break their window, or you try to run, and you deserve to be clubbed and tazed.
-
Can you blame the cops? They take alot of garbage from smartass disrespectful punks who think they can do whatever the hell they want. And kids get off on basically any minor law they break, short of being hauled home or getting a ticket, maybe some community service. Did you ever consider not breaking curfew in the first place? Or not smoking? Or drinking? If you wanna break the damn law fine, but don't get mad at cops if you're too stupid to not get caught doing something you're not supposed to be doing in the first place.

What do you mean when you say there is no proof? I guess we just imagined all that fossil record stuff? Everything we know about genetics and mutation is just one really big hoax? -
Hehehehe, watched the whole thing. After that intitial scene, I just found it amusing. I don't know why, and I normally can sit through horror flicks wiothout flinching, but that first scene really creeped me out. Hhehehe, cute puppy

Too true, too true. Just as many men are narcisistic prigs, many women are cold hearted witches. Of course there are nice ones among the rabble, but that doesn't mean that a few of the bad eggs aren't there, or even a scarily large proportion. Look at me. Bad egg to the tenth degree.
