I'm lost one whats happening, (sorry I've read the thread,) Ignore my comment about the sodium hydroixde and tin chloride deplacing (silly me) So wouldnt the tin electro out first? As the lead is lower (reactive) but the tin would. So wouldnt the lead just drop out? so you would have sodium hydroixde and tin chloride in water soln. but how to remove the sodium hydroixde. an I following this right?

Just thinking. Maybe if I was just just push the gases through water (bubbling) and have a metal halide shinning on them. I'm not sure if that would make the right about of UV light. If it was slow and the bubbles kept small it should be too bad. I know this going a long way around things, but its just and idea.

Cool. well nit and hot. You havent got H and Cl in there have you? Is this a real book or an online thingy? (I'd like to read) I used a heat putty that sets rock hard to cast the burner nozzle. I used a thin wire and built around that, then pulled the wire out. When it was burning at a small point it started to cook the putty but very slow. lol. so much fun,

I was just thinking. When you use lead/tin rodes when doing electrolysis on the salt water. You would get: lead chloride tin chloride And sodium hydroixde. Would this then displace to give lead hydroixde Tin hydroxide sodium chloride ? Thats what the white stuff is isnt it? :/

lol. the mixer is about 0.5cm long so it only mixes just before being burned. Nah I'm not going to mix them b4, that would be stupid and crasy. It has 2 pipes coming in facing each other which mix it well. then it T's off to the burner.

I've done it before with hydrogen and pure oxygen, I built my self a micro burner. The flame that was just hydrogen with the valve fully open was about 2inch max. Nice and pointy, . I would then let the O2 in (very very slowly) and then it would get smaller and hotter until it was so small that It was just a white dot (very very white). But I wouldnt say there was more heat coming out of it than a normla lighter on high. I'll thyiknk about it,

aha, Hummm. I've not got any of thos,e No sulphuric acid with out buying it. Would my idea work? I've got a platinum plate thats is used for hydrogen fuel cell. could this be used rather then burning it?

I remember reading this, but I also heard YT say its a lie, so I just crossed it off my list as I only read it in one place. So its table salt and vinegar -------> HCL and sodium acetate. I was thinking there sould be a easy way to remove the sodium acetate. Thanks, PS ignore that poop. jumped the gun

I know a bit, I've made my own. if you search google "making biodiesel" there should be some Hong kong website that has lots of info, and some forums around the place. You can make BD out of almost anyoil afaik. Veg oil is the normal. the run down of how its made it as : Ethanol or methanol (meth is easy) mix Na(OH) , then add to oil wait. That is a very basic example. I've made some using ethanol whihc is harder then methanol due to the amount of water you will have, as Na(OH) with water and oil makes soap. anyway do that searhc and your'll get a shed load of info. Post away PS there are more then 1 type of BD, oil and white spirts is a strange one, not all engines are ok for this. But the BD with methanol is fine for all!! Then there is just straight oil but this can mess up the engine due it being to think. you are best starting make BD with new oil, Once you have done this use old oil, whihc does take more work as you get free fatty acids, which the Na(OH) will make nutral. That requires ph testing.

Hi, YT this is aimed you really, how do you make your hydrochloric acid? I've been thinking about how to make it. I thought of a fun way. make 2 electrolysis cells. one has salt in it (table salt) the other just water Build some tubing etc and mix them just b4 burning. this should make water and HCl. I've burned Hydogen oxygen mix in a homemade burner, which heated the burner to a nice white (very very bright). So I've got no troubles there. I take it there has to be a much better why then burning them? Well anyway I could make hydrogen and Cl in a better way Al/Na(OH) mix and bleach/acid mix. Any ideas. chems are limited as I've not got around to buying alot of them, but I've got some.

Then you will get tin after? aha at least I was thinking along the right path, I may try this may self now. O you couldnt just add you metal to bleach to make it could you? My brain hurts,

Yt is you do manage to get tin oxide without lead or sorts init and dont want it etc etc, send it my way I'd have a go at smelting it and send it back to you If I do it. I've got a furnace I'n my back yard. (Homemade btw)

cant you add somecarbon to that and heat it? Or would that require much too high of temps?
