    Music ;D

haha, Coldplay sends me straight to sleep. Best cure for insomnia. Radiohead are damn good as well, but I prefer their earlier stuff. Just found a really cool song. The video is done to perfection.. So chilled
  2. Is the picture meant to be hunter s thompson?

    Music ;D

I listen to anything, but my personal favourites go as follows.. 1. Rolling Stones (Gimme Shelter and Midnight Rambler are my fav songs of all time). Followed by.. Bob Dylan, Steppenwolf, the Doors, Hendrix, Bowie, Pink Floyd, Led Zep, James Brown, Stranglers. Also Aerosmith, Feeder, Ash, Biffy Clyro and Sigur Ros. (haha, spot the odd ones out).
  4. iNow is quite right. We don't need (although we may eventually find) a purpose/reason to exist or evolve. I didn't mean to imply that mankind was a mistake (although, so what if it was?), simply that on the scale of things we pose no immediate significance to the universe's inner workings.
  5. You do get metal BBs, whether they are heavy enough is another question. Whats the project for?
  6. Sorry, how did you modify it into a gene gun?
  7. Clearly life has, and will continue to spring up amongst the countless other planets. But just like us they will eventually die out. Life is unstable. We are the most unpredictable entity in the entire universe. Simply put, we're a glitch, a flaw, a disregarded speck soon to be wiped clean. So never mind the Aliens, go out and get loaded, twisted, laid, or do whatever the hell you want. (thats actually a little bit critical. I'd say we have a good few generations left. Its all relative to the age of the universe!)
  8. HAARP was indirectly built following on from the concepts that Nikola Tesla developed. Power for the World etc. I wouldn't go so far as to say "mind control". The human (and most other animal) brains work on the same natural frequency (around 8hz..?), and can be manipulated by imposing external frequencies. As far as I know, alterations to this 'mental frequency' can only depress or invigorate the subject. I wouldn't be worried about HAARP in any case, I'd be more worried about mobile phones, masts and microwaves. The US undoubtedly have something a little more subtle than HAARP. Most likely up in the atmosphere/ionosphere already. Anyway, dont poles flip whether we like it or not?! Besides the point, it can't happen for 2012. The earth is already booked in for a comet collision

    Music Suit

Been doing a compulsory Enterprise module for the last few months. One of the projects was based on idea stimulation, just trying to get the creative juices going. At the end of it I presented a fun product concept riddled with both technical and marketing problems. -A Music Suit! Full design and mass production would require endless funds, time and effort, all for a big risk. So all I want to do is make 1 model. Basically, its just a wetsuit (not entirely necessary) with lots of movement detectors strapped to the limbs, fingers etc. The original concept was for use on 'garageband' and as a general input device for computers (Minority report anyone..?). There is a patent already taken out for a midi based system (and i think Nokia made a spoof suit for publicity). I propose using sets of synthesizers connected to mercury movement detectors (or a random assortment of theremin for comedy value). I think I can easily get full lab access to build it. As a typical student, Im strapped for cash, so this thing has got to be as cheap as it can be. On the other hand, making a 'digital one-man-band' is kind of a once in a lifetime thing. Open to any ideas, improvements, questions, pros, cons, links, etc.. Let me know if someone has actually built one already! I haven't been able to find any REAL music suits. And the infra-red glove developed in Leeds doesnt count (far more complicated than it needs to be!)!! Cheers
  10. Names Roman. On my way to an MPhys at Heriot-Watt Neeeeeeeeeeeeeee
