  1. could somebody else try sending a email to info@rich-mond.com to see if they sell glassware to the public i sent an email three days ago and still i have no reply maybe they will reply to me soon some ones which i have sent an email to i didnt get a reply to in weeks
  2. it most probably was an acid attack due to impurites on the glass rod which caused the bubbling
  3. i would say its cheap espicaly the zinc 1Kg for £20 but there are not that many useful chemicals
  4. oh yes what you have taken for as courses i took similar ones biology chemistry and maths unless you understand them clearly and you are very good at the subjects i would advise you dont take them they are nothing like GCSE's they get much harder
  5. boiling sulphuric acid untill dense white fumes comes off gives it about a concentration of 98% then you stop boiling the yellow tint might be the sulphur breaking down if you have heated it to long thats all i can say about the yellow tint it may be wrong or unless it had some impurites in the glass you used or the sulphuric acid, but the dense white fumes is the sign that its about 98% concentrated
  6. thats brilliant thank you and i am going to use concentrated sulphuric acid
  7. so heat the mixture any where between 80-120c then is that ok
  8. it has to be iodine crystals any way and iodine crystals are pure
  9. and also im going to email them asking if they sell to the public, but what should i say i want the glassware for. jsatan what do you say you want it for
  10. has anybody ever bought ther glassware from http://www.rich-mond.com its second hand equipment based in the UK and i was just wondering if they sell to the public if somebody has bought glassware of them then they obivously do. i hope so its based in wigan
  11. yes you get loads of natural blond men black haired are the most common its ginger which is quite rare in england, scotland there are loads of ginger haired people
  12. in my school most of my friends are tall the average is 5,10'-6,5' a rough estimate but my friends are bloody tall
  13. maybe is people who like chemistry who are the tall ones maybe it has something to do with dna your genes who knows
  14. we need yt to answer this then
  15. just like to add im 6ft 2' and im 17
  16. so about 90c-110c
  17. im sure the acid will decompose around 150c so i dont think it would be that i suppose i could heat it around 100c and wait untill the gasses form and keep it on 100c
  18. if you want some iodine crystals go to http://www.kno3.com they sell 50g for about £15 and 500g for £75 in fact if you live in america they sell iodine crystals at http://www.unitednuclear.com
  19. yes KCLO3 is more unstable then KNO3
  20. no im talking about the potassium nitrate/sulphuric acid solution to make nitric acid what temperature should that be heated with the sulphuric acid about 98% concentrated is it 150c 80-90c or another temperature, im not going to concentrate the 38% nitric acid from http://www.growell.co.uk because it might have impurites and to get rid of the impurites as well as concentrating it you will need sulphuric acid and to distill it it works out cheaper just to make your own from potassium nitrate and sulphuric acid
  21. yt if you are still here what temperature should i heat the solution somebody else said 150c which seems way to much to me and i have read some where else which gave a very short discription that you should heat it about 80-90c which one is it or is it non of the above and another temperature
  22. and do you know where all this acid rain comes from america, plus we add a little bit to it but no way as much as AMERICA
  23. so if i use concentrated sulphuric acid there will be very little water? if so i might as well use concentrated sulphuric acid and dilute the nitric acid when its done that way it will be much simpler and a lot less hasle
  24. ive sent one who knows i might get my free conical flask
  25. in fact i might email that what harm would happen
