  1. The 2500 ft rule seems a bit restrictive to me. I'm not convinced these restrictions will work, since they only restrict where the predator lives, not where he goes. I wonder what the civil liberties groups and the ACLU think of this.
  2. It seems a bit extreme to me. Children can get lost anywhere....a large department store or a big parade. On a similar topic, I saw the Mayor of Miami Beach on TV, seems he's trying to get the 2500 foot "no pedophile" rule to apply to Miami Beach, which apparently disallows sexual offenders from being anywhere on the beach.
  3. A landslide of "hot rocks" blamed for California fires. Apparently the 'hot rock' mystery has not been solved. http://www.earthfiles.com/news/news.cfm?ID=938&category=Environment http://www.darkplanetonline.com/blog/2005/07/584-degrees-f-hot-rock-mystery.html
  4. Yes, I remember his commercials. The funny this was, Frank Perdue actually looked like a chicken.
  5. I don't:.... It's funny, for the past few weeks I've been pollinating my cucumber patch, picking a male flower and pollinating a female flower with it.
  6. I guess the question is, who are the potential moderate republican candidates for 2008. Then which one is most likely to cave on ID. I'm not sure where Jeb Bush and Cheney stand. Then of the names that I've heard bantied about are Schwarzenegger, Pataki, Guilliani, Hagel, Romney and maybe even Newt (not a moderate). Romney is a latter day saint, maybe he'd cave. Edited to add....If the Schwarzenegger amendment passes.
  7. A little off topic' date=' but I noticed this quote from the BBC link. [i']"I've made it very clear... the use of federal money, taxpayers' money, to promote science which destroys life in order to save life, I'm against that," [/i] The actual quote......... "I am a strong supporter of stem cell research, but I've made it very clear to Congress that the use of federal taxpayer money to promote science that destroys life in order to save life, I am against this."
  8. Yeah yer right Phi, there *are* states where creationism is a force. What we need to find out is.....how many states support ID in the curriculum, and how many states support lessons on how to put a condom on a cucumber....
  9. True, but an impotent boost, since the curriculum IMO is pretty much set by the left.
  10. Good point, and I s'pose Bush would have endorsed ID in the primaries, and still won the general election. As an aside, I wonder who got the religious right vote between Bush, Baur and Keyes in the early 2000 primaries.
  11. Anthony Hopkins..........The Silence of the Lambs

    LED help

TK is right, you can't use a voltage regulator, though you could use a properly configured constant current source (current regulator) Bite the bullet and use the resistors.

    LED help

Try one LED with a 510 ohm resister in series (at 5V). If it's sufficiently bright, put the 2nd LED in parallel with the other. If you have another 510 ohm resistor, put it in parallel with the 1st. NOTE: for testing purposes any resistor from say 240 ohms to 1k is ok.
  14. Yeah, apparently Tito was the adhesive that bonded the cultures. Interesting, after Tito's death, and the demise of the USSR, Yugoslavia began to disintegrate in terms of multiculturism.
  15. ATM RESPONSE TO IMM AARDVARK RESPONSE TO ATM ATM RESPONSE TO AARDVARK MY UNSOLICITED STATEMENT ATM'S RESPONSE MY REPLY BY ANSWERING MY OWN PREVIOUS QUESTION ATM'S REPLY TO THE ABOVE MY REPLY.......................Huh??? this has nothin' to do with nuthin' hehehe What argument????? What fallacy????? FROM ATM'S POST #4 AND MY POST #20 I conclude (by atm's admission) that it's none of ATM's business if a child is terminated through abortion, but it *is* ATM's business when a crack baby is born. Which is what I wanted to hear from ATM........but didn't get it. Amen
  16. A friend of mine, an FAA air traffic controller, handling european traffic in the northeast corridor, told me that Lufthansa pilots are the most responsive in complying with ill-favored or undesirable instructions, and the Iberia pilots are the least responsive.
  17. Well what does "pro choice" mean. It obviously means you can choose to have an abortion, does it also mean you can bring to term a "crack" baby or an alcohol dependant baby if one chooses ?? How can a person be punished for doing what they want with their body?
  18. Yep, it sure does make a lot of sense to me..let's see now, damaged fetus becomes a child...your business...........Damaged fetus executed, not your business. OK.
