  1. Well' date=' they may not be free, but if you feel like spending 10 bucks, here's one for you. [img']http://www.johnsonsmith.com/website/product_db/images/p47789_1.jpg[/img]
  2. What effects (if any) would the above statement have on the average persons everyday life ?
  3. An interesting report from NOAA concerning a severe geomagnetic caused by a solar flare on Friday. http://www.noaanews.noaa.gov/stories2005/s2437.htm Has anyone experienced any of the possible problems described in the article ?
  4. Yes, I'm sure Koran's are very easily flushed down the toilet, as is the NYC telephone book. If the Muslims flushed a bible down the toilet, how many people would be killed in demonstrations ? Is there a difference between flushing a Koran and burning a flag ?

    Riders

I don't know how these unrelated "riders" came to pass, but yes, I think it should be changed. It just a sneaky way for a congressperson to pass a pet project without introducing to to congress. If the President had the powers of the "line item veto", the problem would at least be diminished. To my knowledge, the line "line item veto" is unconstitutional.
  6. 1) Agree 2) They should have done that 10 years ago 3) Bad idea 4) Fine 5) Yep 6) No kidding 7) Not sure what it means 8) Don't care 9) Religion??? 10) Get O'reilly
  7. I suppose the gov't did some analysis to determine the optimum months for DST.In my case, there would be no savings with the AC, only a savings with lights, in which case, I'd save more money if DST were symmetric around the summer solstice.

    Respect

And here I thought Sayonara was known as "Mr. Congeniality".
  9. Yeah, yer right. But it seems like it diminishes the "energy saving" argument a bit.
  10. LEONARDO DA VINCI, though known for his work in the Sistine Chapel, was also known as a great inventor. Thomas Edison was no slouch either, perhaps throw in Shockley for his work on the transistor.
  11. That would be the Italian doctor Gabriel Falloppio, he invented the condom and discovered the clitoris in 1564.....2nd, would be Mr Thomas Crapper who invented the modern day toilet.
  12. total circuit resistance is......... 110 in series with 40 = 150 150 in parallel with 450 = 112.5 112.5 in series with 112 = 224.5 Ohms total current = 40 mils voltage drop across 112 = 4.5 V I'll do the rest if you want
  13. A few that I've seen: China syndrome Planet of the apes Alien Blade runner Escape from New York Mad Max

Do they make an in line 6 anymore?
  15. No, it won't hurt your amplifier. If the audio output from your computer is too high (which I doubt it is), it will simply saturate the output of your amp.
  16. Macroscopic, IMO, the word "racism" has been redefined. If you use the dictionary definition of "racism", your speech will be much different than if you use the loosely defined versions that are floating around. I'd ask your teacher to define "racism", then go from there.
  17. Interesting that Ted Olson would say that, especially with some of the decisions coming out of the 9th circuit. I wonder if his late wife, Barbara, would agree with him. Certainly Ann Coulter wouldn't. BTW, a few years ago, when I had the shingles and couldn't sleep for 40 days, I used to listen to Stan Major...out of Florida. I live in NH and the local radio station dropped him, or his home station dropped him. Do you know what happened to him?
  18. In my opinion, racism in America is almost extinct....'cept for a few David Dukes. There's still some discrimination, prejudice and bigotry hanging around. Who asked you to make this small speech?
  19. I'm in favor of drilling, not because of the effect on oil prices, but to reduce our dependance on foreign oil, though for reasons of expedience it may be sold to far east markets, which can be reversed if necessary. The thing I find ironic, is Americans don't seem to care if Saudi arabia, Venezuela, Russia and other oil rich countries ruin their environment, but they scream bloody murder if there's an infinitesimally small chance that an Alaskan elk may be killed.
  20. There are numerous fields of engineering. What type are you interested in. I'm a EE, an electrical (electronic) engineer.
  21. Maybe we won't need bacteria to make hydrogen. Seems as if we may be using moon gas. http://www.abc.net.au/news/newsitems/200411/s1252715.htm http://www.energybulletin.net/3390.html

    The?

TEH, is not used in American english. At first, I thought it was a case of unusually high dyslexia, then realised it was "slang". I also noticed a high incidence of what I refer to as a "negative" as in...."is it not true"... instead of ... "is it true". I then noticed that question marks are used in statements like ...... I supposed you're American???
