  1. I didn't see any criticism, i just saw a statement.
  2. What are you using for a power supply? It's sounds like a chopper. Are you decoupling right on the 741 supply pin(s) with a .01 mf capacitor and with the capacitor leads no longer than 1/4 inch? Do you have plenty of ground plane on the PCB? Keep your leads short from supply to PCB and bypass your supply with a 10 mf cap right at the terminals.
  3. Have a good time in the U.K. and France.
  4. if the charger says it works off 110V 50/60 Hz AND 220V 50/60 Hz, and IF the the rectifier (AC to DC converter) plugs directly into the wall, then all you need is the adapter to go from your plug....to adapter.... to the wall socket. Check this link to see what I mean....the price should be less than $10.00http://store.traveloasis.com/unad1andgrou.html
  5. Exactly. IMO, affirmative action is a degrading insult to the black community.

    Schiavo case

I just heard on TV that the taxpayers are picking up the tab at a rate of greater than 80,000 per month.
  7. I'm opposed to affirmative action, not for constitutional or reverse discriminatory reasons, but because I see it as a disincentive to the blacks. I see people like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton constantly reminding the blacks that they're being discriminated against, they deserve more handouts, they should receive reparations or they'll never get out of the ghetto. The blacks should be encouraged by the black leaders to make it on their own, develop self respect, scrap ebonics and keep reminding them that they're as good as anyone else, they just may have to work a little harder.
  8. It's a catchword. "Neocon" means "newconservative", but neocons have been around for numerous decades. I think it started when the traditionally democratic Jews became disgruntled with their party and moved to the republican side. There are several types of conservatives, the neocons, the paleocons, traditionalcons, religeouscons and a few I forgot.
  9. True I agree, but I think most activists are liberal Do you support the idea??
  10. There are judges in some states that have interpreted the constitution (or one of the amendments) to read that children have the right to sue their parents if they're not allowed to go out on a Friday night. In addition, in the state of Washington (I think) the child's "rights to privacy" laws allow a parent to be jailed if they listen in on their childs telephone calls. Is this progress??
  11. Guess I'm not sure what you mean by "judicial activism", seems like "activism" is in the mind of the beholder. LBJ enacted affirmative action via an executive order, and I think Nixon expanded it by introducing "quota's". Bush #2 is opposed to affirmative action, so my question is....who are the judicial activist's??
  12. One DPDT relay should do the job for reversing the polarity. Depending on the type of window, you may consider using magnetic switches as your limit switches.
  13. Conservatives are more likely to interpret the U.S. constitution as it was meant when it was written. Liberals are more likely to interpret the constitution the way they think it would have been written, had it been written in 2005
  14. Actually, they're roughly the same, but fed backwards. In the case of the receiver, it's the antenna, a couple of conversions and a transducer (speaker) for audio. In the transmitter, it's the transducer (microphone) a couple of conversions, and the same antenna. 1 or 2 watts is fine for house to house communications. For a single frequency, you could have a high Q antenna.

    Radios

A good antenna is a half wave dipole, but they get rather long at the lower frequencies like AM. The AM band covers more than an octave of bandwidth, so the antenna needs to be de Q'd to be able to cover the whole band, this is done by winding the antenna on a ferrite rod and perhaps loading it to De Q it. the FM band on the other hand is much less than an octave, but yet has a center frequency somewhere in the band, thus, the reception can be worse at the band edges. Other considerations is the polarization of the wave, I.E. vertically or horizontally polarized. As for the car skin idea, think of the axel's, frame, drive shaft, tie rods etc short circuiting the skin, it would look like a matrix.
  16. Good question. From what I see here, looks like the science folks aren't that interested in porn. I imagine there must be some cultured porn forums on the internet, maybe they, and Mr. Joe Sixpack download the porn, and the youngsters download the music.
  17. Yes, the ACLU (American civil liberties union) and other secular groups are hell bent for leather on abolishing all Christmas (Christ/God) related ojects/songs/ etc from the public arena.
  18. I heard on the news last night, that 1 in 4 people in the U.K. have a broadband cable internet connection. A poll was conducted concerning why people had broadband cable, the answer was.......... (1) To download music (2) to download porn. What do you people on this scientific forum think....if anything??
  19. There are organizations in the U.S. that want to abolish the National Christmas tree in Washington D.C. and call it the National holiday tree. Is this a good idea??
