Blike, Yes, I think the extreme left wing with their 527's definately hurt Kerry. Having Eminem campaigning for him didn't help either. Kerry disassociated himself from the Socialist and communist parties who had endorsed him, he should have disassociated himself from the other fringe elements. To my knowledge, the Gerry Falwell types didn't actively campaing for Bush, as it should be.

Maybe the U.K. folks think the media is mainstream......No?

I think Bush passed some legislation banning these types of ads. I guess the lawers (on both sides) found a loophole via the 527 code. Some of the ads were brutal. BTW, I watched Tony Blair on TV today. I think all Americans appreciate the support of the Brits...................though you can't tell it from reading the posts on this board.

Ophiolite, as I said before, I'm feeling a little sheepish about not knowing that. You know, something doesn't seem to add up here. If they require visa's, which understandably would cause delays along with some scrutiny. I'd think the terrorists would just come across the border along with the other 3 million illegal aliens per year.......or come in from Canada, they're pretty liberal on immigrants.

I haven't heard of anyone having to go to city hall to get an absentee ballot. Anyway, these ballots went into a pile referred to as provisional ballots, I believe that the absentee ballots went into the same pot as the provisional. I think the number was more like 200,000, not 450,000. Believe me, if Kerry thought he had a miniscule chance of winning in Ohio, he wouldn't be conceding today.

In 2000, Al gore and company didn't want the absentee ballots to count. (I think the ballots came in late). The reason.........they knew that a huge portion of the military votes would go to Bush.
