    Sorry...

As a percentage of the total work force, I agree. Words like "most lost jobs", "highest deficit in history", need to be referenced.
  2. I think it'll be very close. Kerry has probably picked up some votes on "just released stories", I.E. the "vaccine" issue and the "380 tons of explosives" issue, if anymore negative stories hit the papers, it may tilt the balance in Kerry's favor.
  3. I had read that the U.S. army had already destroyed in the order of 4000 tons of explosives. Not sure if they received advanced notice about the location of the stuff.
  4. Phi, I'm not sure it makes the college pointless. It probably would, if each electoral vote represented an exact number of people, but that's not the case since people move around. (probably not the case anyway) What I'm saying is.........Alaska has 3 electoral votes, California has 55, if each vote represented 1000 people, then the population of Alaska is 3000 and the pop of Cal is 55000 (scaling for arithmetic reasons). So it still seems like someone could win the popular vote but still lose the election........No???
  5. I had read somewhere that the states have the right to do that. Oh, I just went looking and found this:
  6. I don't think I mentioned problems. If we assume the environment is getting better under each president, then obviously, I'd mention Clinton, since he was last in office.
  7. Pangloss, in my opinion, you're more informed on politics than anyone on this board. I'm sure you've done your research and homework. To be honest, I'm as surprised as your wife is. The problem with the above statement (the quote) is all presidents that I remember have broken promises....especially expected promises, like lowering the deficit, closing loop holes, reforming welfare (though Clinton did it) etc. Since Kerry is all over the map on promises, does he keep the promises he made when debating Howard Dean, or does he keep the promises he made when debating Bush?? We went out to dinner with friends last night, The wife of my friend announced that she was voting for Kerry, for much the same reasons you are. Anyway, Good Luck
  8. Ok, I was prepared to make more comments on the above, but I'm willing to drop the whole thing. I didn't want to respond to atm's comments, but felt I was pressured to do so.....with the threat of (loosely translated) confess your sins or resign
  9. Gun thread #62..atm said...the Americans still generally label them cowards."". ... #62..I said...That's wrong. (IMO) #62..atm said...Well, as you have said before, you do... [edit] of course, I never said it "before"[edit] **************************************************** #62..I said...Ist of all, I don't see how most of your post relates to why the French dislike the Americans. [edit] my original comment on #46 [edit] #62..atm said...It's fairly clear. I used English, in sentences, with no ellipses. Denial is not rebuttal. [edit] what was clear, was that he twisted the discussion to make it look like I "hated" the french [edit] ************************************************ #62..atm said...I don't think belittling the loss of so many men in any way justifies your opinion. #46..I said...France (in my opinion) has never been friendly toward the U.S....This goes back to Charles DeGaulle. I think DeGaulle was embarassed and embittered that the U.S. and Brits had to liberate his country after Hitler crushed them. [edit] I did not "belittle" anyone[edit] ************************************************** #62..I said...Anyway, I gave my reasons for why I think the French dislike us, your reason was weak #62..atm said...No, you just didn't agree with it. But it's halted your French bashing, which was the point. You can continue being nationalistic about other subjects now. [edit]Agree with what?, he didn't give me any reasons..[edit] *************************************** #62..atm said...The worst the US suffered was Pearl Harbor and Midway, "........... #62..I said...has nothing to do with the topic.....though I might add that the war in the Pacific was brutal. #62..atm said...The war in the Pacific was as nothing compared with the Somme. [edit] he ignored that I had said "has nothing to do with the topic" ************************************* [edit] Post #66 was generally a collage of random insults, laced with sarcasm.[edit] End of "gun" thread, But, I still MAY have more....dunno Oh, I'm supposed to apologize for calling the French cowards????
  10. Ok, Ok, I'll justify my accusations, I will not apologize for calling the French cowards, since I didn't say it. I'll get back to your comments some other time.
  11. Hi Pangloss: The problem is, I'll be accused of hitting below the belt, by not being able to defend my low blow, when indeed, I can defend it, and intend to defend at least one of my complaints. I don't plan on getting the last word in, I just plan on defending one complaint.
  12. [you] Swapping "for" with "about" makes no effing difference. [me]It makes a damn big difference, even you, with your parallax view should see that. ********************************************* [you] "I'll request your posts are deleted" is not the same as "I will turn you into the administrators". [me] Oh!!, in this context, tell me what the difference is. Or is your paranoia affecting your comprehension? ************************************************ [you] Regardless, you should never make such accusations about anyone if you are not capable of defending them. [me] I've already defended one, I suspect Blind rage is affecting your vision. I'm not finished with you, I gotta head out for a while Toodle loo Sayonara
  13. Yes, I had read that both Clinton and Cheney had received flu shots. Certainly, Clinton with his quadruple bypass and Cheney with his 4 heart attacks, certainly must be at the top of the list to receive a shot. I'd like to know who's advising Kerry and the dems, to toss out cheap shot like that.
  14. I agree, you did not admonish me for throat jamming, and I didn't say you did. I said..."Sayonara admonishing me about "throat jamming " You had said...."There will be no throat-jamming." "Not helping" I agree, I shouldn't have put it as admonishing. Your words were ...."You know, you aren't exactly helping." I guess I'm not sure what that means. I said....."Good try, well beyond strawmaning and smoke screening, disingenuous blather" atinymonkey said....."If you accuse me of any of those things without grounds AGAIN, I'll request your posts are deleted." I would have repeated them again, and he clearly thought I didn't have grounds, thus, I'd be turned in to the administrators. "Moral outrage" Guess I don't get that one. You must see something that I don't
  15. Lets see now, I noticed you said I was rude and insulting to you. I don't see it that way, I see it as *YOU* being very rude and insulting to me. However, I don't know if Blike's comment was directed to you, me or both. If I were guessing, I'd say *you*. As for Misrepresentations and misquoting, I'll give you one.....there are others. Never said that, you did. The googling of "french victories" was meant as humor Anyway, theres no point in going on, with Sayonara admonishing me about "throat jamming and not helping", and Blike possibly accusing me of insulting you,..... AND I'm not complaining, I'm sure they told it like they saw it. Then with you threatening to turn me in to the administrators for accusations that I believe to be true and you obviously don't. With all that, it took the wind out of my sails and I figured I'd be shoveling sh*t against the tide.
