And going on a sometimes faulty memory, didn't the great man reject the BH hypothetical, which is all it was at that time? Bingo! GR is not an all purpose TOE, and until we have one, [1] and [2] remain obviously valid.

My apologies...Off with my head on on goes a pumpkin!!π¬ The title threw me actually, "Why does it seem to us that the universe is expanding where there is no gravity" The universe is expanding as opposed to "seems to us" The acceleration in the expansion rate is theorised to be caused by DE. The expansion itself, energy from the BB I suggest, although not positive on that score. Apologies again!

You're being far too modest dear Sir! Excellent rundown and some great examples. Here's an interesting paper on the subject....... https://www.researchgate.net/publication/333146650_New_Concept_of_Gravity Abstract and Figures For more than a hundred years, discussion has been going on in physics: is gravity a force or a curvature of space? This article shows that gravity is both a force and a curvature of space simultaneously. The forcefield of gravity and space are synonyms. Gravity, like other potential forcefields, has allowed different energy levels. Conclusions: Mass is the charge of gravity. Gravity is a force. The forcefield of gravity is space. Space is curved as a forcefield. A gravity forcefield has Allowed Levels of Energy (ALE). All experiments with elementary particles are performed in the gravity field ofthe Earth. It is expected that ALE has different values in the different gravity field on the Moon or on the Mars ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: I also remember a Sten Odenwald answer on a Q+A forum a while back........ https://einstein.stanford.edu/content/relativity/a11332.html#:~:text=No.&text=General relativity tells us that, that creates the gravitational field. Special & General Relativity Questions and Answers Can space exist by itself without matter or energy around? No. Experiments continue to show that there is no 'space' that stands apart from space-time itself...no arena in which matter, energy and gravity operate which is not affected by matter, energy and gravity. General relativity tells us that what we call space is just another feature of the gravitational field of the universe, so space and space-time do not exist apart from the matter and energy that creates the gravitational field. This is not speculation, but sound observation. Return to the Special & General Relativity Questions and Answers page. All answers are provided by Dr. Sten Odenwald (Raytheon STX) for the NASA Astronomy Cafe, part of the NASA Education and Public Outreach program. PS: The original answer contained a contradiction, that concerned me and prompted me to E-Mail Sten Odenwald. The contradiction was as follows... "so space and space-time can and do not exist apart from the matter and energy that creates the gravitational field" The above answer is the corrected answer by me. The highlighted underlined two words were a typographical answer and should not be there, and that he apologised for.

You have it totally arse up. Gravity actually decouples regions of high mass/energy density from the overall expansion rate. We see the universe expanding over the larger scales, but our local group of galaxies, and even well beyond to our cluster and galactic wall, are decoupled from that expansion due to the higher mass/energy density.

Interesting. Any chance of a link to your stuff?

Most of the stuff you have been told are facts, rather then myth.

Many companies now, and government orginizations are giving a time limit for their employees to be fully vaccinated, otherwise they get the chop. And those cases have grown to in excess of a 1000 every day over the last week.

Don't be. If you are genuine, and your God is real, then I'm pretty sure he wouldn't be worried about how you pray, rather he/she would be concerned in the sincerity of your prayers. My wife prays for me everyday!π

You do a reasonable job when playing the physicist may I say. π I wouldn't hold that against you...I believe action/knowledge speaks louder then words/thoughts.
-
Of course it is off topic but hey! probably par for the course with the silly nature and philosophical nonsense reflected in your posts. Are they as detailed as the study/cases/examples I have given and that you ignore? I'll leave you to your dreams matey, I believe I have made my point, a valid point held by society in general. I'll rest easy on that fact. Seeya!!βΊοΈ

Yep because they will always be needed. I havn't a clue, but logically I would say that it amounts to the seriousness, and whether violence was a part of it. I would also suggest that more have been given the lifelines I have mentioned, then those that are locked up. There you go being obtuse and irrational again. I have spoken of Hitler, the animal that raped the little girl, the five that kidnapped, raped tortured and killed a nurse on her way home from work, just to name three I am reasonably familair with, and obviously there are many more. They all are real events, of so called humans, that all commited hideous violent crimes, and all were in the mind of any fair dinkum genuine person,[ not inhibited by some "feel good philosophy"] be thought of as evil. And of course there are many more that obviously you don't want to talk about. No it assumes that which you conveniantly fail to recognise...some are and have been in far worse situations and still risen above their situation, and anyway none of that makes any difference imo anyway, with regards to anyone that commits what could be termed a violent inhumane criminal act, and as in the three familiar situations that I have raised and which you need to sweep under the carpet. Nice anecdotal story,π Facts: [1] There are evil people in the world. [2] Sometimes they commit evil inhumane acts of violence. [3] Many are incorridgible and should be locked away for life. [4] Even those that have commited some inhumane heinous act, should be punished. [5] The real victims in the cases I listed are, the 6 million Jews, the little girl who has likely had her young life ruined, and the nurse who lost her life to five animals. Another silly philosophical question, but I'll play your game....A Lion kills generally for food and survival and instinctively. And the obvious one being that a Lion being lower on the evolutionary intelligence scale, is unable to morally judge or even recognise evil. That's there nature, and we humans know and recognise that. And while off topic a real nice feel good story I came across this moring about Lions.....https://phys.org/news/2021-09-safrica-lions-prosper-fenceless.html

Gravity is described as the geometry of spacetime within the model GR. It is our superior model of gravity, but still has limitations and regions of non applicability. In many circumstances the fascination with truth and/or reality, has religious undertones.
-
We also desribe and predict gravity quite well, but still do not know its true nature. How do you know I'm not a robot? And I said nothing about reality not existing, just that it may not exist, and/or maybe beyond science. Probably as the supernatural, paranormal and spirituality are unscientific mythical concepts. That's the beauty of science....and why they remain "scientific theories" always open to modification, change, or scrapping. The scientific methodology and modelling has served us well and continues to serve well, without any need for defined truth and/or realty, although as I previously said, if we should accidently reveal such fundamental truth and reality, all well and good.
-
Again, any truth and reality that you are on about, may simply not exist, or even be beyond scientific knowledge.....we really have no idea, as we have no idea about the nature of gravity. Why does mass warp spacetime? Why is GR not applicable with the quantum realm? and the core of BH's? Are gravitons real? Are quarks really coloured? We have two models that while incomplete and both an approximation, still give us correct answers [as you yourself noted with Uranus and Neptune] We havn't yet got a TOE. I would also add that truth and/or reality and reference to them, sometimes have a spiritual undertone.

Firstly, Informative post...let me say that "my hypothesis" was my own personal thingy and was certainly not as you say [and in part I agree] an effort by the right loonies, to shut down every criticism of proposed actions on things like global warming and covid, which personally I don't see as "leftish" rather as dictated by science and the scientific method. The deeper methodology of the extreme right loonies is as I have said before, "F^&%$ you Jack, I'm alright" In saying that some PC notions, which I won't go into now, do make me cringe somewhat. In essence personally, I don't like myself being catagorised as atheist, or leftish, or anything else for that matter, rather just someone who sees the benefits of science, the scientific method, and reasonablity.

Bloody great post! and welcome! Funnily enough though, that's what most of us have been saying. One part of your post I would like to comment on is... On a now defunct science forum, we once had a renowned astrophysicist. He still presently operates at the Anglo Australian Observatory at Coonabarabran in the Warrumbungles NSW. He in a debate one day, noted that any future validated QGT will most likley also encompass the BB model of universal evolution. That seems to fit in with your own inference that it will also accomadate spacetime geometry as per GR. That certainly says a lot about the powerful nature of GR and the BB that we presently accept. A question if I may...How long would you anticipate we will have a validated QGT? It would seem to me that to do that, we would some how need the technology to observe at the quantum/Planck level. That seems to this lay person, to be still a tall order? Thank you also for inviting him. I love your last senetnce and find it very relevant.

I tend to agree...anti abortionists, anti vaxxers, anti prisons, etc etc, and all with that worn out slogan, what about our FREEDOM!!! I have an hypothesis..... Could it be that the extremes of the left...the likes of extreme political correctness [and there are examples of that which I abhore] actually give rise to the extreme looney right movement? with religion being a subset of that extreme looney right? Personally I have been labeled at both ends, perhaps that's because my views in general are probably just slightly left of centre. You're either with us or against us, seems to be another cry of extreme movements. In my country, we also have anti abortionist movement, but any government that would secumb to their nonsense, would be kicked out pretty quickly. The same inversely applies to our health scheme that was implemented by a Labor government in 1972. If any Liberal government [that generally oppose it] ever tried to dismantle it, there would be hell to pay.

The point is, and the point that so far has been ignored by others, it really only applies to a small number, but still a number large enough to warrent prisons. For the petty criminal, the first timer etc, we have methods of attempted rehabilitation, from parole to house arrests and suspended sentences. If we look into it properly, the greater part of what makes a prison dehumanizing, are the inmates. In that regard, I support some segregation, keeping the first timers, kids, petty criminals from the rest of the inmates. Your analogy imo fails because in your situation a terminally ill person is in most cases not to blame for his condition...his condition was not caused by his cruelty to others, or by wronging society. Also we have in NSW more then one case where parole, and/or suspended sentencing, has led to that person reoffending That in essence ruins it for others, and the parole/prison boards etc, are then less inclined to grant leniancy or other attempts at rehabilitation to others that maybe deserving. I would suggest similar would also apply elswhere. Not emotions, facts, that you are ignoring. Yes, and many others have been in the same "victim"circumstances, and rise above it. But again, for the umpteenth time, we do have less severe methods to deal with first and/or even second timers and petty criminals. You seem to be rather discriminatory in what you are reading in my posts, or probably what you are ignoring. Perhaps we need to agree to disagree. I'll stick with my factual situations [and there are thousands of examples if I chose to list] and you stick to your philosophy. I'm not really in the habit of checking out profiles, although in some circumstances I do.

Because as long as there are animals in society that act inhumanely, and violently, they need to be locked up as they are now in most reasonable societies for the reasons I have given you a 100 times now. If you want to kill him, that's OK with me. The final punishment! βΊοΈ My feelings and concerns are with the victims of his crimes, the ones you have barely ever mentioned.. I'm not concerned with your Monty Python quips or any other comedian, nor with any bleeding heart, feel good system that treats inhumane violent criminals with a holiday resort. Your vice President has it correct, and I'm sure she also does not reject rehabilitation when and where appropriate and possible.

The Sun is not a worm hole. It is simply gravitationally collapsed mass that heats up to the point of starting nuclear fusion. If it is large enough, after exhausting its fuel supply, it will go supernova and what maybe left behind, if NDP [neutron degeneracy pressure] is exceeded is a BH. We have seen various stages of stellar formation in other systems. We are unaware of conditions at the core of a BH, as all our models like GR are non applicable, and so entering an ERB [Eistein Rosen Bridge] or worm hole, maybe possible. We cannot be sure though. The BB was in effect an evolution of space and time from a hotter, denser state.

Another comedian.

You already know the answer to that...It takes all kinds to make up a society, sadly some of that will almost certainly be cruel, violent inhumane animals that in reality do not deserve the time of day.eg: the monster I gave that raped, tortured and ruined a little girl's life, while having been on parole. Not sure why I have to repeat it so many times. And does it have a 100% success rate...and would they also be as leniant with some incorridigible monster as per my example...you know, the one that you reckoned should be put to death. π I have given you plenty of evidence and real life examples of inhumane, violent life destroying criminal acts, rather then your own attempts at ridicule with excerpts from Monty Python and philosophical banter. Here's a philosophical one in return, but far more realistic and appropo of what a reasonable democratic society sees as justice.
-
Stop being so obtuse. I'm saying as you well know, that what you are dreaming of over the course of this topic, maybe admirable, but is unrealistic, unobtainable and naive to pretend it can ever come about. I'm thinking the way that my 77 years on this planet has manufactured me to think, and that obviously is the same way the vast enlightened majority think in a democratic society. You would be covered in egg if you were silly enough to demand evil does not exist. Your problem is believing that a softly softly "no prison" approach is viable or realistic in any and all circumstances. History tells us that there will always be incorridgible evil violent people in society. And those same people should be punished, and locked away for their inhumane deeds. Sounds like some nutty conspiracy crap to me. 'scuse me now fellas, I have some Rugby League to watch! π
