Thank you! he's just out of college and this was his first year teaching so maybe it was just a mistake and he realized it and just didnt want to tell us he messed up since he's practically the same age as my class lol but we've only wrote them like that and with lines, i dont know what its called though

7-tert-butyl- 2,2,3,5-tetramethyl- 7-propyldecane? and im not saying your wrong or anything but i dont think my teacher put the dashes afterwards because in all of my notes they are that way. but it probably dont matter because he never said anything to us about the dashes and commas.
