  1. Ahh but what if you have an "agnostic" view towards science, trying to keep an open mind that we might not have everything right? Why does it have to be either or? Agnosticism is a cop out? Unless i'm mistakenly speaking for the others. I don't see why being open to the concept of their being a "god" has anything to do with negation of science. I think you have the label of most religious gods in your head and when you hear "agnostic" you envision someone wanting to believe in something like a holy, pure, perfect human but is aware that science runs this B!t(h and trying to find a medium. I can see why you might think that and i'm sure their are some agnostics like that but generally speaking for agnostics, I don't feel like its a "cop out."
  2. I see peoples lips moving when they talk about politics but all I hear come out is "buuurgggaaaaa buuurrrrrgaaaaa burrraaaagaaabuajugggobidodobibodlyakldaakjsdijad"

  3. JK you are straight.

Urban dictionary my generations terminology if you have to and disregard grammar.

  4. iNow your soft. Yes I know you're soft.
  5. Probably because the subconscious will to survive causes me to create a defense mechanism in which I feel more content thinking I will not cease to exist. Justification like a boss.
  6. Well I read a book that was wrong and then built my imagination off of the wrong knowledge I had, this thread just needs to get deleted.
  7. Idk man, i'm a 18 year old highschool dropout with a crappy education. Give my some time to get educated, get a degree or 2 and then i'll be able to step back in this thread and give you a better opinion than what I could write right now.
  8. Check out the speculations forum, thats where I do my brainstorming.

  9. Conflicts of interest piss me off.
  10. Anilkumar, I might be misunderstanding you because I have no knowledge of most of the things you are talking about but You did mention empty space, do we eve have any evidence of completely null and void empty space? Personally I think "space-time" is warped. Except theirs no such thing as nothing, no such thing as empty space. Their is something their and it is kind of compacted. Then again at one point I thought dark energy was just light moving faster so yeah probably don't know wtf i'm talking about lol. yet
  11. Not the kitchen? well how about the roof?

  12. I'm friends with Daniel Dennet on facebook now! Actually talking to him about what I think about the educational system and how turning it into emotional therapy for elementary school kids would give us more rational adults. He doesn't seem to like the idea but maybe i'll clarify some things and change his mind. Feeling full of hope right now!

    1. Ben Banana

  13. I've seen parts of the movie lol. The again movies are always way different than books
  14. It felt good to be out of the rain . Pcalton, I have a feeling me and you are going to be good friends. As long as you reassure everyone that you are only brainstorming and trying to collaborate without pushing your own pet hypotheses, you will do fine here. Its worked for me anyways.
  15. Starting to write a book, please check my thread and let me know if its been written before I write a whole book lol.

  16. So i've got this idea for a book i've already been working on a bit. An alien species, the most intelligent form of life known in the universe. They reproduce asexually in incubator sort of test tube things, stop aging once in their prime, and are the most intelligent technological advanced form of life. Their are other space faring species in the book, some selfish with only the survival of the species in mind at the cost of everything else. Some friendly wishing to learn about the universe and share knowledge. Others just making it off their planet and dealing with the struggle of sustaining life in space. The human race in this book is actually a science project by the dominant alien species. Their is so much more to the book than what I am just saying but I don't want to give the story line out and have someone go and write the book i'm working on lol. Cool, lame, cliche', already done? whats your opinion?
  17. Well maybe not improve us but evolution does have an agenda to improve our rate of survival. side note - Phi, check the thread I just posted about the book I started writing. I'll put a good bit in the book about an alien species with the best intentions of only their own survival and how their hostile life filled galaxies environment caused them to be the most war like species in the known universe. Ending all life that may have some type of resource in their possession or on their planet. An example of evolution driving a species to be an "abomination." Their will also be examples of evolution driving a species to be righteous and honorable towards all life with the goal of seeking knowledge their main concern. I'm thinking this to be a really good book if one like it hasn't already been written lol.
  18. Phi, I don't think Nteovs meant it so literally. How does evolution not advance mankind? Your right, were not going to reach an "ideal state." We might eventually become an abomination due to our environments demands. Were still going somewhere though.
  19. Thankyou ntoevs, for thinking with an open mind.
  20. By grow to like, I meant the environment required a high calorie intake. The human race grew to intake a high amount of calories to sustain life.
  21. So light doesn't need a medium to travel on, that's all fine and dandy. Why does light look like it is traveling on something? The energy that causes waves in a body of water, does that energy need the water to travel on? No! it doesn't. It is just energy that happens to be traveling with water in its way. I'm wondering is it possible that their is something in lights way and that is why it travels in a wave? I'm probably wrong but before you tell me i'm wrong, tell me why light travels like a wave.
